Message: Sassy,
Wow you really damaged your toe nails. DO NOT PULL THE NAILS OFF. You need to let them come off on their own. You may be able to get your nails back in 5 months. What you need to do is try to stimulate nail growth. Massage the nails with cuticle oil once a day and keep your nails as short as possible.
If the nails are not back to normal by the time prom comes, go see a good nail tech and have fake toes nails applied for prom. Then soak them off or just let them grow off. But be nice to your toes.

Message: Hi
I've been searching everywhere for some advice. My toenail was stepped on in a nightclub and is now black and very sore. It feels like it is going to drop off. Is there anyway of preventing it from dropping off or is it inevitable? More importantly, if it falls off will it definately grow back?

Message: if it's going to come off then there's not a thing you can do to stop it. the trauma that happened to the nail when it was stepped on, the bruise, pretty much "killed" the nail. only time will tell if a new one will grow. if you injured the tissue beneath the hard nail plate, then it may not. usually it will. no guarantees.

Message: tom - toenails are so funky and our feet often take the brunt of trauma. That darkening of yours could even be genetic. I suggest you see a podiatrist for a diagnosis and, hopefully, a remedy.
