Message: you get them healthy by giving them patience and TLC. it's going to take some time and determination to reverse the damage caused by years of acrylic use. go read about the Nail Growth Formula found on this site from the home page here.

Message: Ditto Cheryl's advice. I tried all sorts of products before settling on the NGF. (TIPS, ProStrong, OPI Nail Envy) While TIPS will hydrate, it is not much more than soybean oil. It did nothing to improve the thin nails. In fact, it seemed to make them feel thinner. Other products fortified with calcium or whatever are still going to be drying and promote peeling if they are suspended in a lacquer base. The NGF seems to make mine thicker and resilient to peeling. They aren't super long, but I love the way they look and feel.

Message: I have to agree wholeheartedly with Cheryl and Lynnie. I've tried TIPS and ProStrong too and although TIPS did work for me "somewhat" my nails always grew to a point and broke. ProStrong was a disaster because it just continued to dry out the skin around my cuticles to the point where the skin would get very thick and naturally I'd bite it off. My cuticles just looked terrible because they were soooo dry. You've got to realize not everything is for everyone but NGF has given me the best results. If I were you, Jennifer and Anonymous, I'd take those acrylics off and start using the NGF. As Cheryl said some TLC and patience. My nails nolonger peel/split with NGF and my nails are MUCH stronger with it, especially my thumb nails. God knows why they were the chosen ones!
