For no reason my nails appear PURPLE!!! they are a purplely colour instead of a pinkish! some people say it is a deficiency in something. PLEASE HELP! whats causing my purple nails??

some MD web sites suggest it may be a shortage of oxygen in the blood. i guess it can turn nailbeds blue or purple. any heart problems or medications you take that might do this?

My best friend Eryne has purple nail beds too. She doesnt have any heart problems or take any medication, but could she have something like that that she needs to go have checked out? Her nails have always been like that, and I have never noticed any problems with her, but could there be something seriously wrong?

what age person is your friend? if she has a regular doctor, it might be something worth mentioning. might be absolutely nothing, might not be. healthy nails should be pink-purple seems like an indicator to me.
