Subject: Detached fingernails
Message: A couple of my nail have separated from my nail the skin underneath. On one finger it goes down the nail pretty far down one side and one on it goes down pretty far but down the middle. Will my nails reattach or is this permanent?

Message: I had a piece of straw jammed into my index finger, and half of my nail is lifting away and isn't attached,It won't grow out as I have had this for quite sometime. What can I do about this? Also the skin peels quite a bit around the nail.

Message: I seem to have the same problem as Ann, who posted her inquiry in 2003. Is there any more information on this condition and does Ann have an update?

Message: Marianne,
just been doing a little research on your separated nails and there could be a number of reasons for it happening, if we can rule out the acrylics, injury or even a fungal or bacterial infection. the area that has detached will not reattach. you will have to wait for that part to grow out. i can direct you to some possible sites to learn more if you like.

Message: I have acrylic overlay on my nails. My right thumb nail has been plagued with problems for 2 years. Because I am right handed, I have hit my nail so many times that the nail is totally detached from the skin, down to my cuticle. In one corner it is actually lifting out of the cuticle. Should I try to pull the nail off myself or go to a Dr. & if so, will my nail grow back?

Message: Oh dear me! How and why would you even put up with that for 2 years? You will need to soak them off in pure acetone. It takes time but that is the safest way. Do NOT *pop* them off! That will only increase the possibility of further injury.
Our Natural Nails Growth Formula will help you to recover the natural nails and it will cost less in time, money, effort and pain and suffering......
Be very careful to not knock that nail around once it is out from under that fake nail. You may wind up with the loss of the nail completely if you traumatize the matrix.
