Subject: acryllic nails
Message: Two weeks ago, my daughter conned me into having nails put on. I got a very bad job! After having a nail tech look at them, I was told to remove them and how. I followed the instructions and am at this moment in pain. Got eight out of ten off, but my middle finger on left hand is so thin that it is bleeding. As for the rest, they are tissue thin. Please advise me as to what to do for comfort, it isn't nice...
Thank you,
Vicki

Message: Hi Vicki! I am sorry but how did you remove your nails in a first place?! The nail tech should remove it profesionaly for you (puting an oil on your cuticuls and skin around the nails and then soaking them in pure acetone for 15-20 min with the hands covered with towel). I dont think filling is the way to remove tips as it is very dangerous and it may damage your natural nails. As you say they are already dameged so try to avoid artificial nails for a perod of 2-4 months and use only strenghtener and hand cream and cuticule oil every day. Sorry for my english.

Message: The GOOD JOB he is doing is destroying your natural nails. No matter how great they look, no matter how long he takes.....He is systematically destroying you GOD GIVEN NATURAL NAILS.
And you are paying him plenty to do that. My question is why?

Message: MAD,
what he did to you was abuse.why did you let him do it? soaking them off is the ONLY acceptable way. your nail beds are now damaged, thin and will hurt everytime you go for a fill. he took off the top layer of the nail bed when he pried them off. that was part of your nail structure. now it's gone. he's not doing a good job-he's setting you up for allergic reactions, infections and even more nail loss. he doesn't obviously care what amount of pain he causes. hey, but as long as you're happy.

Message: Oh, that sounds terrible, I have never had acrylics, but that is truly a horror story. I would say, do not go back to that person under any circumstances.

Message: oceantown,
consider yourself lucky your nails were never destroyed that way. women just keep going back over and over for more torture, somehow reconciling in their mind that pain must be good and necessary and paying someone to do it.
