Ony as long as it takes for all the thinned out nail takes to grow out completely.
One misconception about nails is that they ruin your nails permanetly by making them thinner than ever before. They don't, you just forget exactly how then they were before you did put them on, so keep that in mind.

Acrylic nails are the worse thing for your nails.The longer you keep them on the worse your nails get. Nails are a living organ, they need to breath. Acrylic nails are made from very strong chemicles, you should know, the salon that applies them on stinks.
Even glued on nails are not good when kept on too long. I have ruined my very own nails because of it. This will take a very long time to grow back to normal. There is a product out there that works for nails after the removel of acrylics. This helps to thicken them up so their not so fragil and weak.
You can take Horsetail (Equisetum) vitamin E and biotin. Vitamin B6 helps. Eat cauliflower, nuts, soybean and liver.
A thing to remember, nails grown 1/2 an inch a month in the summer and 1/4 in the winter so you can amagin how long it will take for the entire nail to grow back to normal. Just eat right.

Hello,I had my nails on for about 4 months. Everytime I bump them, they split in the middle. Why does it do that? Then when I went to the nail shop, it burn soooo badly. Why did it burn? What do u think I should do about it when my nail split again. Should I wait awhile to getting did or just go right ahead and get them did back over?

everytime you put them on and bump them off a layer of your own nail comes off. it's strong glue for gods sake.

thin .They look auful i guess they were auful
before the artifical nails. I want to get my

so, you're just going to get your nails healthy so you can destroy them all over again? i've got no advice for you if that's what you're planning on doing. it's just destructive. this is a natural nails forum. not a "i'm going to take them off forum, complain about how horrible they look, and what deplorable shape they're in, and then put them back on". you want to to keep them off then we can help.
