My nails seem to be growing pretty nicely but then all of a suddenly the tips of my nails turn a clear-brown color whenever water hits them, does anyone know how to help this and why it does that?

The clearness of the nail is from the moisture, nothing to worry about... as for the brown look, I'm not positive but fairly sure, that it could be minerals in your nail that don't turn transparent when hydrated.
Be advised though... if it gets a darker color of brown or starts getting thick and yucky... go to the Doc. Preferably a dermatologist.

I showed my dermatologist my nails and he was perplexed. He asked if I was taking meds and I am only taking vitamins which he said shouldn't cause this to happen. About 1/4 up to 1/2 of the tip of my nails on my right hand have turned brown...only my index finger on my left hand is beginning to darken. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening to my nails? I feel healthy otherwise....just menopausal...
