Message: Check that corner of the nail... is the nail plate lifted from the bed?
Odd are it isn't a fungus at all. It's more than likely a bacterial infection
Short lesson here... fungal infections will make your nails lift up from the nail bed and get thick. There is only one fungal infection that doesn't do that... your nails stay pretty much normal, but they get a white powdery substance on top of them. NONE of the fungal infections will turn your nails any shade of green.
If you definately have some type of fungal infection such as candida (yeast) and the nail turns greenish you have a SECONDARY infection called Pseudomonas Bacteria.
From all the years I have done nails I've noticed one thing... Dr's that are not dermatologists will diagnose a green nail as a fungal infection and prescribe antifungal meds for it. THESE DO NO GOOD for bacterial infections.
Go to my website and read my article about "greenies" I have information about how to treat them on there. Even though it's mainly about problems stemming from artificial nails, the treatment tactics should work, if they don't, go see your dermatologist about it.

Message: I know I have a bacteria infection in at least two of my fingernails. The tops of the nails are lifting and turning white. My other nails have stopped growing. I do type a lot, but the nails are soft and peel a lot. They are not as hard as they used to be. My thumbs and pinky fingers grow only. I am using Tea Tree oil and the doctor said to soak them in white vinegar. Any other suggestions? My hands looks awful!
