Subject: Solar Oil
Message: I got the Solar Oil because alot of you recommend it so highly. Any suggestions of how to use the oil? Do I massage it into my cuticle for a while? How long? Afterwards do I let it sit for a while? How much do I use?

Message: Hol, I have never used Solar Oil, but I have heard a lot of women compare it to using the TIPS product, which I have tried with little or no result. I think you just brush it or rub it on and go.

Message: I do have TIPS but am totally turned off by that product. For some reason it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have some nail oil (use to use nailpolish by Jessica) and that oil smells exactly like this Solar Oil. You know the almond scent so I'm wondering if I can use the Jessica stuff too. Maybe if I get some courage down the line I road. Anyway, I'm giving that Solar stuff a try. Thanks for your advice, Ddeb.

Message: Hol:
When I use the Solar Oil, I run it across my cuticles after I wash and dry my hands. Then I rub each finger tip for a few seconds just to get it evenly distributed. I rub it down around and sort of along the sides of the nail a bit. Especially on my thumbs because I tend to get very dry, split skin in the winter on my thumbs (strange, I know!) I think I wash my hands more than the average person, though.
Whenever I put any product on my cuticles, I always use a bit of hand lotion right afterwards. Mostly I use Bath & Body Works products.
As I said before, I use a few different products on my cuticles throughout the day. I probably use the Solar Oil once each day.
Hope this helps.

Message: Good afternoon ladies,
I was wondering what product is this Jessica and where do you get the solar nail oil? I am getting really frustrated. I know that the GNF is good and is probably working, but my nails (if you can call them that) are growing so slowly and keep breaking. I am trying to have patience, but I have to admit that yesterday I got really upset when the last two stubs of fingernails both broke and I didn't do anything that I can think of that would hurt them. I have had no other product on since the first [part of Nov) I know that isn't very long but I really miss my long french tip nails. I am using the NGF at least 4 times a day and hand cream too. if my hands are in water longer than normal or wash my hands more than normal then I put more NGF on again. I am trying to be good and go natural and I know it takes time for the nails to grow back out and probably my nails were damaged and the damage is maybe still growingout, but maybe I can still somehow protect them so that they don't keep breaking??
Do you know of something that we can use that will help protect our nails and still not lose the benefit of the NGF? I almost feel like a traitor even asking, but if there is something that will help and I can do both is there any harm in that?? Please help me if you can. what other products do you use or should I ask that here. Please feel free to e-mail me back personaly if you want to. Thanks
Doris

Message: Doris: I went thru the same thing when I took off my acrylics. I almost went back to them and if it weren't for my 10-year old daughter, I would have! She had career day in school and a woman came in to talk about cosmotology. She does hair & nails (natural nails) and she told all the girls about the danger of nail enhancements. That is when my daughter gave me an earful!
I happened to be at the mall and a man at one of those Natural Nail kiosks asked me if he could demonstrate his product on my nails. It was called Obey Your Body Natural Nail kit. They sell cuticle oil, a nail file, a 3 way buffer & a really good hand lotion. I was sold after he did one nail! I had all the deep ridges in my nails from the removal of the acrylics. After he buffed my nails, the ridges were almost gone! I bought the kit for $40 then I saw it on ebay for about $15. I still feel that it was $40 well spent.
That is what really got me hooked. Then I learned that any good product that moisturizes the nail & the matrix will help the nails to grow strong. But nothing will happen overnight! It took me a full 4 months to get my nails healthy.
Keep using the NGF religiously. But it won't hurt to pick up the Solar Oil. They have it at CVS for about $10. You can also try the Obey Your Body Natural Nail kit. Check on ebay. But be careful not to overbuff the nails. They look beautiful & shiny but overbuffing will weaken the nails.
Good luck. You can do it if you're really persistent. Having long, healthy, natural nails is one of my proudest accomplishments. I will never go back to acrylics.
