 Subject: Gotta pay attention ladies!Message: This happened: This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag which contained her mobile, credit card, purse etc.... was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says "I've just received your text asking about our pin number and I've replied a little while ago." When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The pickpocket had actually used the stolen phone to text "hubby" in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account. Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, sweetheart, Dad, Mum etc....... And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru texts, CONFIRM by calling back. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS..... |

He knows I cannot do that texting stuff......lol And we have different pins for our ATM cards anyway - his pin is different from mine!!! Another great safety precaution. |

It does in fact get difficult to remember 30 passwords, let alone which password goes to what gizmo!@#$%^&*&^%$$# I am with you though Deb...I don't even know the cell phone number. We have it so that if I am on the road and have any problems I can call the better half, AAA, or 911, (if I can remember the number!)lololololol There really are too many ways for thieves to steal from us now days. The less STUFF we have and use, the LESS CHANCES they have to get us! |

I am the same way in that I only use my cell phone for if I break down on the side of the road or I am running errands and my son gets sick at school.Deb I am like you I never use the text messaging and my hubby will not even carry a cell phone...he hates them. |
