Message: You gals are a hoot and so totaly nice. But hey what's wrong with yanks???? I think I am one. I live in Nebraska...
Thank you ladies for being so kind and gentle with your messages. I really appreciate that you were honest and yet weren't mean. I can't tell you how much that means to me. I can tell several of you have become quite good friends and yet it isn't a click. you have enough love and friendship to continue to invite others into your circle. My husband would be quite surprised. He thinks women cannot get along without having cat fights or have snide remarks or competition. He heard this a long time ago on a talk show or something and I can't seem to convience him other wise.
This place feels warm and cozy. Thank you so much for inviting me in to share in your sisterhood of friendship. I tend to claim sisters as I go through life because I always wantd one when I was growing up and mom just had 3 boys and me. Hope it is ok to claim you all. From what I see you are all nice even Cheryl. I have to admit though that I could feel a little chill and thought I was in trouble. But I can see that she is friendly too and maybe kind of like a mother hen protecting what she believes. Mother hens jump right out there in the line of fire and well I think you get the picture. Which is something I go back and forth with either being the mother hen or a scared little chick.
Back to the nail issue. You ladies have convinced me to try the nail stuff (don't you like that term - stuff-). I need to check my checking account (debit card) to see if I have enough money. Things are really tight right now I only have 1 part time family in the daycare right now and it isn't going to be enough to pay the bills. I have my add in the paper, but sometimes that can change over night or take months to fill even 1 place. So if you ladies are praying gals please send up a prayer that God will give me favor and bless my daycare with good parents and children and that pay on time - and forgive my impatience but I need them now!!
Well I had better go get something done. I will try to check in once in a while to say hi. and if Ihave the money (which to be honest I should use on a utility bill but I want the nail stuff) I will order what I can. I want to get started and get these nails healthy - long - and strong natural nails.
Hugs
Doris

Message: Ok ladies you convienced me :)
I just ordered the miracle nail set and I am already anxiously waiting. But unless something changes, my plans are to use nail tips to start with, that way I can use the product on my real nails and just have the tip on for length. I am hoping that will work. I just don't think I can go completely cold turkey at least not yet. Not sure how I will be able to cope when I break a nail. I wish I already had it now that I've made up my mind. Thank you all for helping me. Have a great evening.

Message: Ok I got it. It's a joke....a funny funny.... giggle giggle!!
I thought maybe it was some kind of nail product. I have heard of one time of a product call something like cal gel or something like that. I think I even tried it once.
So moi how long did you say you have been using this product? I know that it is different from person to person and how much damage there is to the nail, but how long do you think on the average do you think it will take to get my nails stong, long and beautiful where I am not going to feel like I need / want to hide them?
How long did it take for your nails and did you have much damage?
I don't think I have a lot of damage. I think right now that I have been lucky because my nails have not breathed the open air for probably at least 28 years. My nails are really thin...I think I am fairly accurate on that time line because my daughter is now 28 and I know I was using acrylics before she was born. I changed brands lots times during the years, using also nail harderners when I was just using tips trying to go more natural. Then I would go back to full coverage acryalics. Probably the last 2 1/2 years I have been mostly using glue stick on nails. Faster and easier.
I also have a nail biting problem. When I take off the nails and clean my natural nails preparing them to reapply the glue on nails I have found myself biting my natural nails down to the ends of my nails which makes me mad at myself because I keep trying to get them longer, thinking that then I would just use nail harder on my own natural nails, but then I bit them off. I am not sure why I keep doing this. So it makes me concerned that I will just continue to bite my natural nails even when I am using this new product and then I won't be able to get long nails. Is there something to help me stop this nasty problem. I remember biting my nails when I was a little girl. I don't know why I do it. and I don't wnat to do it.
Wow I can't beleive I found this awesome site devoted to taking care of our natural nails. I wonder how long it will take to get my nail products?
Take care.

Message: Hi Doris
I'm hoping your daycare is totally successful for you. Good daycare is a wonderful thing.
Your recent nail history is similar to mine. I used glue ons for about 10 months after acrylics, then I found this forum and bought a bucket of sheep fat as my husband likes to call it.
Maybe for that special occassion in November you could use the stick ons but try and go cold turkey until then, because the NGF works best on the bare nail. NGF tends to make the stick ons "stick" less well so you're constantly reapplying glue.
I do sympathise about wanting the really long french look. I've only ever seen one or two women that can achieve that kind of length with a natural nail. Whether yours can grow that long will depend on how thick and strong your real nails are.
Take a look at virtually all the top models and many of the better actresses too. Their nails are usually not the unnaturally long french ones. I didn't realise that until I stopped wearing mine. The other thing I found out was that my husband actually hated them. He was so pleased when my natural nails repaired and became normal again.
All the best with your nails. We've all been right where you are now. You wouldn't have posted on this forum in the first place if you weren't looking for a more natural solution so you're already part way there.

Message: Doris, you've come to the right forum and welcome! Just thought I'd put in my two cents about the product and you can make a determination about the product as to whether you want to go full steam ahead. I have now been using the product since about mid-May and am amazed at how well it works. I can honestly say I now have 10 healthy long nails (how long is long though?) USUALLY. I do have to cut my nails about every 3-4 weeks because they grow fast and get too long and get in the way (this is after a few months though. At least it was with me). In my younger years I was a nail biter but seemed to have conquered that but the urge is ALWAYS there. I have seemed to inherit my mothers soft nails. I had a drawer full of nail products that "promise but don't deliver" so I know where you are coming from. After finding this product though I've pitched EVERYTHING. I've resorted to Jessica Nails, TIPS, ProStrong, Nailtek, etc. but some had just too many steps and none of those products seemed to deliver what I expected. My cuticles weren't happy campers using all these products either. This NGF only has one step and I find I can do it while watching tv. When I started using NGF, like previous posters said, it was like overnight that I noticed a difference. In LESS than one week I noticed my nails no longer peeled/chipped (I can count the times they do on one hand now) and their hydration level has been increased like you can't imagine. I'm think I'm ready to graduate to using the product maybe every other day but I'm scared to jump to the next level because of my previous experience with "soft" nails. Baby steps at a time, right? Even after using the product for over 4 months I'm still seeing results. Be sure to use the NGF twice a day for the first 30 days on nekked nails, as Barbara said, to jump-start your nails. You can do it, Doris, if you really have a desire for these beautiful, natural nails. Who cares what your Mary Kay clients will say! Remember, you're doing this for yourself. As for your big event in November, I too would wait to use the NGF until after the fact. I sent you an email. Hope you got it.
