Subject: Crown Moulding
Message: Okay folks - I need some decorating advice. My bedroom has vaulted ceilings but I want crown moulding. Because the ceilings are vaulted, they do not make an exact angle which precut moulding requires. Soooooo, I was thinking of using a flat moulding on the top of the wall and the same moulding on the edge of the ceiling (they would butt up against each other) and then, if needed I could put a 1/4 round in between the 2 mouldings to 'tie' them together, making them look like one piece. Now, this seems rather complicated to me, so I'm wondering if any of you have any better ideas. Maybe something I'm missing?

Message: Crown Moldings can be very tricky, Moi! Compound miter cuts and all that... obviously you KNOW that.
I think if you used as wider molding on the "bottom" and then a more decrative molding as the top piece it would work beautifully. I am not really certain that the quarter round would benefit. If your walls are fairly square to the ceiling there should be no need for the quarter rounds expense.
Let us know what you chose(*&^%$#@!~

Message: I have to be honest with you girls. I love crown molding but hubby does just what I ask him and I know NOTHING about it. Now when you're talking nails and skincare just ask away!
