 Subject: Nail GlueMessage: Has anyone ever heard of putting nail glue on your natural nails to make them stronger? I am still having a time with my nails peeling layers and thought about trying this to see what would happen. What do you all think? |
| cheryl IP: 206.159.161.156 8/29/2006 22:16:00 |  RE: Nail GlueMessage: don't do it, you'll regret it. the glue will not make your nails stronger, but will eat away the layers. there are very strong chemicals in nail glue. have you tried the nail growth formula? your nails are peeling because they are dehydrated. putting nail glue on will only make it worse. you need to treat the underlying problem, moisture loss in the nail beds, not cover it up with more dehydrating glue. |

You may be able to hold the layers together with glue, giving the illusion of something that is not real. But your nails will REALLY SUFFER if you do that. Not to mention the effects of glue on the cuticles.................UUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! |

Sure they do make the nails stronger but is it worth it? I would use the nail glue (actually crazy glue) to make a break stronger so I wouldn't have to cut the nail. I would not hesitate to say DO NOT USE IT. Water or whatnot eventually would get in between the nail and the glue and eventually the glue will fall off and you'll have to reapply, sand down, etc. again It's soooo much trouble. Is all that effort worth it? I don't have problems with peel/splitting nails anymore but I know you don't want to hear that since you're not successful. In the beginning this is exactly what I did. I used the NGF twice a day for the massaging of 10 minutes each time. I did not use nail polish either for 30 days. That might be the key. I seem to be on the right path. I do have a problem getting nailpolish to adhere to my hydrated nails now but that's a small price to pay. 3-4 days is the maximum for the adhesion. Even without nailpolish on my nails they are very strong and I don't have the desire to bite them. |
