Subject: Deformed Nails
Message: I'm 16 years old and since i was 13 i have always bitten my nails and even peeled some of them off. I no longer peel my nails off but i still bite them not really knowing. I try not to bite them anymore and i guess im doing okay, but some of my nails are deformed and indented. My left thumb nail has a indent in the middle and my right thumb nail is kinda rounded, not looking much like a real nail. My right middle finger nail is deformed in a way i cant really explain, the nail is kind of thin and i can push the white part in the back of my nail up and down. The rest of my nails are not perfect but they will look fine if i dont mess with them, only the 3 i mentioned are deformed. Will the deformed nails grow normal if i leave them alone what else can i do because it is really embarrasing.

Message: Hi Will!
It's really hard to say exactly how your nails will improve or change with time. I can tell you that I abused my nails really bad too, biting, picking, peeling, acrylics... and I have a couple that are not quite normal looking. I do have to say though, over the past year I've been taking realllly good care of them and they are looking better all the time.
It's important, whether you're a man or a woman, to take care of your nails. Keep them moisturized with a reallly good product like the one found here, or take a trip to a local drugstore and pick up something there. I know being a teen it might be kinda hard to get something mail ordered but honestly, the Nail Growth Formula found here is amazing.
Now, all that said - no matter what product you choose to use, be sure you do it faithfully and be patient. Years of abuse cannot be undone overnight!
Good luck and feel free to come back with any other questions you might have.

Message: I think they will grow back normally, Will, but it might take a couple complete new nail growths to do it. After having acrylic nails on for 3 years, my nails looked very much like a biter's nails afterwards, lifting and dents included. A year later, they are just getting back to normal. Stay strong!
