Subject: How Long Before Buffing?
Message: I'm a newbie and I just received my mini NGF yesterday in the mail - I was so excited!
Since I'm just starting my 30 days when should I buff them?
It's been about 2 years since I've had artificial nails on so they are not thin and are in relatively good condition (it's taken that long) except for the peeling which drives me crazy. I never realized that acetone based polish removers were drying my nails out and probably causing the peeling. So glad I found this site!

Message: Hi Tamara!!
I don't know if there's an official wait time to start buffing. I waited awhile because my nails were such a mess. If your nails are in good shape you could probably start buffing anytime. But please, go lightly. That's some powerful stuff there!! LOL
Someone else will come along and be able to tell you for sure how long to wait.

Message: Tamara,
If your nails are *weak or brittle and flaking*, I would suggest that you wait until they are a bit more balanced as far as the moisture is concerned. Once you see that the nails are not layering apart and the cuticles are supple and healthy again, then buff gently....You can store the buffing cream and the formula in the refrigerator. It will last forever but sometimes it builds up a bit of a film on the surface. If this occurs, just wipe the film away with a tissue and you are good to go..... I have been running a test on a jar that is out in my shop for 5.5 years now, exposed to whatever the heat index is and to the cold winters. So far no ill effects, so you don't have to worry that it will go bad if you put off buffing for a while. Hope this helps.

Message: They look so wonderful after the buffing, Tamara, especially if you follow up with one of those shine buffers afterwards! But, I only do that once per month because it does thin the nails a little without you realizing. I find it especially nice for removing any possible layer of yellowing on your nails.

Message: Since I did receive my buffer yesterday I went ahead and buffed them very lightly.
My sister just removed her artificial nails so I think I will buy her the kit for Christmas.
Thanks everyone for the replies!
