Subject: Flaking nails
Message: My daughter is 15. She has just told me that she's always had flaking nails and that she thought its normal. Now I'm hunting for reasons and/or remedies. Deficiencies are possible but I want to hunt up every possible reason and let her go through all of them until she find the one that works.
iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, are the deficiencies so far.
Dos: silica suppliment, sea kelp, blackstrap molasass. Don't drink milk.
Any other ideas?

Message: valerie,
flaking nails are dehydrated. a simple answer. just dehydrated, that's all. you can fall for all the remedies, the quick fix "herbal answers", but it's just wasted money. nails are "simple souls". they need hydration and moisture, i.e. shea butter, lanolin, glycerin products. something to lock the moisture in after something as benign as a handwashing. try the Nail Growth Formula, but try it for the right reasons. it will take a month to see real results and it must be used twice a day during that time. like most things worthwhile, it takes patience and dedication to using it. healthy, flexible, pink nails, or dry, dehydrated, peeling nails? it was a very easy choice for me 5 years ago, after acrylics.

Message: Valerie,
Cheryl is correct, as usual. The problem is dehydration. Flaking is a sure symptom of dehydrated nails. She need the moisture balanced in the nails. There is no voo-doo, no magic potions, no sickness involved with her issues. The nails are simply dehydrated and the Nail Growth Formula will fix that problem....

Message: Valerie, I have had peeling nails all of my life. I resorted to acrylic nails and had them successfully for about 10 years. Then one day I developed an allergy to the acrylic and had to remove them. I got lucky and found this website while surfing for a solution. The thing I noticed was that after using NGF, my nails no longer peel.

Message: Valerie - how do your daughter's nails look? In addition to the flaky problem she reports, are they at all pitted, discolored or bumpy? The reason I as is that some people do have nail psoriasis. If you don't think that could be a factor, look around for a nice hair and nail supplement for her to take. Also, I bet she doesn't use hand lotions regularly. We mom types do because we do a lot of housework and diswashing! Plus, my hands easily show signs of age and I like to keep them smooth as possible. I love the combination of NGF and Glysomed Hand Cream. And my nail peeling has stopped since starting the NGF 10 months ago.
