 Subject: Removing silk wrapsMessage: I have had silk wraps on my nails for several years. I knew my nails were getting thin underneath but hated to go back to weak and short nails. Last time I went for a new set I had a technician who said she was experienced but she was new to the Salon. I should point out that the staff have always been lovely but do not speak much English so it is hard to communicate with them. Anyway, this tech was a bit rough and ripped what was left of my tissue paper thin nails on two fingers. I decided that I don't want to do this anymore but I have concerns about how my finger tips will look and feel once I take them off. I wanted to know if there was some kind of process to protect my finger tips while my nails grow in. I could not communicate this to the people in the salon and don't know what to do. Hope you can help. |
| cheryl IP: 206.159.161.156 8/07/2006 19:48:20 | RE: Removing silk wraps Message: fran, once you remove the wraps, your fingertips and what's left of your nails, will be extremely sensitive. there's nothing you can do to alleviate that. it will only last a little while. the wraps use acrylic in them and need acetone to soak them off. they should not be ripped or pried off. it might take 3 to 6 months to see improvement in them. |
