Subject: nail polish peeling
Message: Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest something I could do to help my nailpolish stop from peeling. Ever since I can remember wearing nail polish, after a day or two my nail polish would peel off the whole entire nail in one large peice. This happens with all of my nails. I always thought it was because maybe nail polish doesnt stay very well on top of my nails. But I have tried everything including fileing the surface slightly or putting on a base coat first. Nothing has seemed to prevent this from occuring. Could someone help me or suggest something I could experiment to see if it would work. Thank you.

Message: amanda,
you could just have very oily nail beds that polish has a hard time adhering to. thin coats stay on better than thick. try swipping them with rubbing alcohol before you polish to remove all the natual oils.

Message: Amanda,
Cheryl is right on the money. Usually oils are the slick culprit to this issue. Though the polish will of course wear off regardless. The best way to prolong the polish is to touch it up several times before removing it all together. Use the alcohol like Cheryl mentioned. And then use the touch up method to prolong the manicured look.
Hope this will help.
Ladies if you have other insights it will of course help us all to know what you know!
