Message: Don't even bring up that word. I just went outside to put miracle grow on the garden and had to stop and I'll finish it later tonite when the sun goes down. My dog doesn't even venture far with this heat. Right now she's laying on the deck. Wonder how long that will last. With a black coat it's not conducive at all to heat! I feel so sorry for her. The heat index is way over 100 here. It's only 90 here at 2pm but that's hot enough for me. I'm waiting for the electric company to say we're using too much electricity with all the ACs on. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know that's coming.

Message: i finally gave up, went into the bedroom and turned on the A/C. the only room with it at the moment. i try to just use it at night. my dixie is just way too old to have to deal with this kind of heat! i envy my friends with forced air heat. we would have put in central air years ago if we had it. dang baseboard heat!! i would have to destroy my house running the duct work. so, we endure.

Message: not to say that global warming doesn't have a lot to do with all of our "violent" weather patterns in the last few years or so, but talking to my mom in MS. she remembers a time in the 1950's when weather was this brutally hot and hurricanes were enormous. i believe weather trends are very cyclical, but made worse by our ever increasing worldwide population and reliance on fossil fuels. it's time for another 10 years or more of heat, cold and unpredictable weather, made worse by the depletion of our ozone.

Message: It's really hot here in Texas at 105 degrees! My state is having a heat wave right now, but according to my local weatherman, he said we might get some relief next week. I can't wait until some rain comes because we haven't had any in weeks! Even my poor cats outside are sitting and suffering in the dry, hot weather.

Message: Heat Update -
Yesterday it was 111 here, according to the Weather.com site, and because of the humidity they say it felt like 116. Supposed to be more of the same today. I don't remember it ever being so hot for so long :(
