Subject: Trying Something Different With Nailpolish
Message: For those that have a hard time keeping nailpolish on I've come up with something else to try. I filed the nail "slightly" with a filing block so that the polish has something to adhere to. Is this ok, Barbara? I only did it Saturday night and we'll see how long it lasts. I have a fairly bright color on (somewhat of a salmon) so I'll report back as to my experiment. Remember when you use to wear nailpolish before this NGF and it wore off at the tips and your nail would break there because the nail was uneven in layers(you know layers of nailpolish vs. the bare nail). Know what I mean? We'll see if it's different with the NGF. Well I'm thinking it would be different since using the NGF because the nail is somewhat strengthened now.

Message: I did some major weeding yesterday and used those thin plastic gloves and my hands sweated like crazy in those gloves. Hence, I had to remove the nailpolish and cut my long nails (getting too long anyway) so my experiment will have to be put off for a while but will be waiting in the wings. It's amazing what that much water can do to your nails. I think it's more than what you go through, Moi, with your swimming. My nails were soooo weak but they did regain their strength when my hands dried out.

Message: Hol,
Wouldn't it be nice if our nails were strong enough to withstand anything???
I did a little experiment of my own -
I have 2 nails that, when they reach a certain length, chip/peel in the same area each time. In the past I've kept it filed down to try and salvage them, but I decided I would keep putting clear polish or nail glue on that area until it grew way out. When it had grown far enough out that I could file it down a good deal past the chip/peel, I did just that. For whatever reason, it's not doing it anymore. I wonder if there is an area that's really stressed and keeping it close to the quick kept the area stressed? Anyway - so there's one more issue down for me :)

Message: Moi, I think everyone is different. After my hands dried my nails got back to their hard usual self. They were getting at that long point where I better cut them or they'll break in a painful area. BTW, anyone wear gloves on their hands and don't have them sweat? At least much. It was like my hands were swimming in a pool of water when I took off the gloves.
