Subject: Are you ladies following the shuttle?
Message: We have been going out every evening that the shuttle and space station come over. We have had more than our share of sightings You can follow the space station by going to http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/realdata/tracking/index.html
Just copy and past this in your browser and enjoy the viewing. We used to talk to the shuttle when they would hook up with MIR, but we haven't tried to contact this station. We haven't heard if they have a schedule set for contacts. Does anyone know?

Message: Oh, I just love when the shuttle is up! When I was in grade school, John Glenn went up..... Our teachers took us out on the beach, or school was across the street from the ocean. We could see the sun reflecting off the space capsule as it flew over head, and I have been hooked on space flight sense.
My Dad was a pilot and my hubby is a pilot, so flight is something I have grown up with and love better than sliced bread and peanut butter on a hungry day!

Message: When I used to hang out on Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island during the summer, (our band played on Cocoa at a place called the cave) we would watch the launches. It is surreal.
If they are going to continue space exploration, I wish they would update the craft! I am with you Cheryl, it scares the bejeebers out of me. Now I find that I am equally frightened about the re-entry!

Message: I don't want to sound morbid but I remember exactly where I was when I watched the space shuttle explode after take off with Christa McAuliffe and I remember where I was when the shuttle exploded during re-entry a few years ago. That really put a damper on my days to come. It's exciting though whenever we send people into space and I sincerely worry that all will go well with those folks. I can see how you'd be interested in it, Barbara. You sure were lucky to be so upclose and personal, Barb.

Message: Thanks, Barb! That's awesome. I had no idea this was even available so I will be sure and have the kids track it. It will be a fun summertime activity for them and for me too ;)

Message: Hol, it is not morbid. It is so tragic that the memory is etched in our brains. I was at work, book keeping department, Krupp Asset Management Corp. Deardre and I were watching on a little tv I brought in that morning. I just do not miss the launch if at all possible.
And Moi, take the children out and you can actually watch it skirt along the night sky. It runs past at a pretty fair clip, so plan in advance when it is coming overhead. The children will be thrilled as I am certain you will be as well. We watched again last night for a couple of passes. I just can not get enough of this stuff!
