Message: Does anyone use a nail white pencil? I have a Cutex one, and like it a lot.

Message: What do the nail white pencils do? Do they take away stains? Or is it like a colored pencil for making your tips whiter?

Message: Nail white pencils have been around for a long time! I remember my mother using one before she went out parties.
It's just a pencil with soft white "lead" in it. You moisten the lead in a little water, then run the pencil under the tips of your nails. Keep a damp tissue handy to clean up around the edges. The pencil makes the tips of your nails really white. It lasts until you wash your hands well. Takes about 90 seconds to whiten all your tips! Pencils are probably under $2 at the drugstore.

Message: The nail whitener pencils are supposed to make your tips whiter and look cleaner. I tried a few by Revlon and Sally Hansen, but I guess they didn't work for me. They were messy, and they left white stuff all over my fingers. They also came off really easily.

Message: The trick to nail white pencils is to keep that damp tissue handy and wipe around your fingertips right after you swipe a nail.
