Subject: Sunless Tanning
Message: Hi gals! I re-ordered my NGF today and told Barbara how much it has helped my nails since last August, when I removed my acrylics. I have ten beautiful nails!
Barbara phoned me just now, and asked me to share a website that I am just addicted to. It's www.sunless.com. If you are into the sunless tanning creams, you're gonna love this site. It has the most helpful and inspiring message boards I've ever read. It's pretty easy to get a nice sunless tan when you follow the suggestions on the site, and the message board posters are generous with referral information.
This website has nothing vulgar or offensive on it, and I highly recommend it!

Message: Connie,
Thank you for posting this! As I was floating about in the pool today I was thinking how insane I am for doing so because on July 17th I have a doctors appt to check out a couple of suspicious mole type thingies. But for cryin' in a bucket - in CA you can't go about looking like you're from Siberia!
My daughter has started using the Jergens lotion glowy thingy product and it looks nice on her. I'll be sure and check out the site... thank you again!

Message: Connie,
Thanks for posting this one.... I think everybody will enjoy this.
Moi, you poor pasty white thing you! Don't worry about it. You know there was a time in history when porcelain skin was in! Wasn't a lot of cancer running around then either, I'll just betcha'!

Message: Thanks so much, Connie. In my old age (almost 46 - lol) I'm into the sunless tanning thing because I don't have patience to lay in the sun. The upkeep is "murder" though. I use to worship the sun in my younger years (didn't we all do this before the logic fairy smacked us aside the head - lol). This year I was late painting my toenails and doing the sunless tanner because of the obvious. It takes so much time and dedication. My family goes to the Jersey shore early August so the transition from sunless tanner to real tan is an easy one. Actually I only have to do the sunless tanner thing for a few months. When the real tan fades "oh well."

Message: Connie - I've used that site before and it IS great. When I get frustrated with tricky places like knees, feet and fingers, that's where I look. An hour sure can fly just reading there, though. I've settled into using and loving just the Bare Escentuals Faux Tanner. That should get me through Summer.
Hol - LOL! I hear ya. I'm almost anxious for September to scrub it all off because this little treatment is starting to feel like a chore akin to polishing the furniture! This is my first sunless tanning Summer. Lately I've been using the Dove Firming Cream. I notice my skin's texture looks better this year from the combo. However, I do indulge in a hour (total) in the sun weekly just because I'm reading that we do need that Vitamin D.

Message: Lynnie,
I emailed Lisa Robertson a year ago asking what tanner she uses and she said she uses BE Faux and loves it. She said she does not use it on her face though but didn't say what she uses. Do you have any suggestions?

Message: To tell you the truth, Moi, I'm not totally happy with what I use. When I see the tan fading and have to put it on again the following day it's very obvious that I have a faux tan. I use Neutrogena MicroMist. It apparently got a good write-up in Allure magazine. What I do specifically like about it is that it dries FAST unless you put alot on. I have to spritz myself on my kids bedroom floor littered with clothes (don't tell them) because last year I did it on my nice rug in my bedroom and had a devil of a time cleaning it and it's still questionable. Going to the shore and transitioning from faux to real tan is no problem at all. Any suggestions as to what faux tanning product you use?

Message: I use Tan Towels from HSN or the L'Oreal Tan Towels from the drugstore. Also, I follow up every day with the Aveeno lotion that contains a light tanner.
When I want a dark tan, I go to a tanning booth and get a spray tan.
Whenever I think my tan is too light, I compare my arms with my white stomach and realize I'm really okay!

Message: Connie, I used tan towels once (forget the name but I think through HSN) and I remember when the towel was running out of tanner I seemed to press harder on my body and would get an obvious streak. Do you find that problem? That left a bad taste in my mouth.

Message: Hol, I stroke the tan towel gently on my skin. I don't find that it dries up too quickly, I guess because I only tan my legs, arms and shoulder area (the part above my bust. I don't wear two-piece bathing suits, so the middle of my body doesn't matter! On my face, I use the towel, or if I want a little darker tan on my face, I use a small puff of Neutragena bronzer. I think tanning is a knack, and you make mistakes along the way. Sunless.com offers much better sdvice than I can!
