Subject: The Grocery Game - again
Message: Has anyone checked this out yet? This weekend we saved a bundle! Our grocery bill came to $208.00 but when they got all through with the coupons, etc we paid <<<drum roll please>>> $60.30 (and $17.00 of that was for ribeye steaks for Fathers Day).
Check it out or email me if you have any questions -
www.thegrocerygame.com
The cost is small. You buy a Sunday paper for the coupons each week and you save the coupons until they expire. We have a folder with a zipper we keep them in. We don't cut them all out, we leave them as the packet they come in. We write the date we got the coupons on the front. Each week the list tells you what the store you choose has on sale, and which week to find the coupons. It's really easy once you get the hang of it and I can tell you, well worth the cost. The cost of the game is $10 for 8 weeks. We save at least $40 per week, usually much more than that so as you can see, we come out way ahead.
The key to success is this...
ONLY buy the things you USE. It's not a bargain if you don't use it.
In our case, the store we shop 'the game' at is higher priced in general so we only buy what is on the game list that week. The items are on sale, and the store doubles the coupons so many times we end up getting several items per week free. This week our market is tripling coupons and there were about 20 items free because of that. And I mean good items... not rinky dink stuff. We do our 'other' shopping at a local market whose prices are lower... we save plus give the little guy some business.
If you're interested, check it out. You can get a 4 week trial subscription for $1.00
We've been doing it about a year and a half and have saved literally thousands of dollars.
Hope you take a minute to check it out...

Message: Hey there again!
My neighbor gave me her Sunday coupons so we got everything we need on the list using her coupons from Sunday and this time our bill came to $57.00 but we spent... $3.52
It's amazing how it works!

Message: ::: blushing ::: Well, I wish I could take credit for being as smart as ya'll think I am but I could never do this on my own! The list lady figures it out and posts it every week. As an example, ALL of these things ended up being free this week because they were 1. on sale, 2. I had coupons for them and 3. the coupons were tripled:
Marzetti Refrigerated Salad Dressing
Cattlemans BBQ Sauce
Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
French's Spicey Mustard
Ken's Marinade
Pickle Chips
Franks Redhot Sauce
Barilla Tortellini
Tums Smoothies
Listerine PocketMist
Simple Green Trigger Cleaner 22 oz
Iam's Dog Food - 4 cans
Pounce Hair Ball Cat Treats and Meaty Morsels Cat Treats
Band-aid Antibiotic Bandages
GUM TOOTHBRUSH
Revlon Compact Tweezers
Choreboy Sponges
Glade Air Infusion
Snausages Beef & Cheese Treats
Beechnut Baby Food - 3 jars
Yoplait Nouriche Smoothies - 2
Activa Yogurt 4 Pack
Mocha Mix Coffee Creamer 1 Pint
Boca Meatless Chili
The others things were amazingly inexpensive and that's why we made out so well!
Usually Ralphs's doubles coupons but this was a special event so I stocked up, but even weekly with only doubled coupons we make out really well.
She's done a segment for FoodNetwork on Unwrapped. It's interesting to watch! I just checked and she'll be on June 26th and 27th on the episode called Cheap Eats. Check it out if you can :)
