Subject: 8 months
Message: Hi all, been awhile. It is now 8 months since NGF and no acrylics and I have never had ten nails at the same time. Best I can hope for is 6 or 7. But when they break they do grow back rapidly and always a white tip is left. However, for weeks at a time I have ten normal nails and then suddenly they start that downward curling thing, then after a week or two they stop again. It is frustrating when it happens as they are more likely to break then but I keep trying. Any suggestions??? Thnaks much

Message: CAC - You must have started at the same time as me. It's almost 9 months here. The "downward curling" issues seems to come up here quite often from people and, if not the result of trauma or disease, just could be one of those genetic issues popping up with aging. You may have to accept that growing them past a certain length just isn't going to work for you. I'm there as well, but for a different issue. Ever since my acrylics came off a year ago, I STILL get some lifting on the edges of some nails when they get to a certain length. It could be a permanant result of the acrylics that my nails are now proned to doing this. That can result in those low breaks. But, for the most part, my nails are thick, healthy and white. The peeling I had prior to NGF is gone. That's a big help because I can remember a top "sheet" of nail peeling off and continuing below the quick line, which would take forever to grow out. So, I content myself that when I have to file down and still get to leave a little white tip. I go by how the nail looks in general as opposed to the length. Good enough for me! Darned good, I might add!

Message: Hi Lynnie
Funny thing, as I sit typing now the curl is gone, it has been for about 24 hours, it does that for a few days, weeks and then is back full force. I agree the tips are white but not all are thick yet. However I did catch my hands a few times at work and thought when I peeked the nail would be gone but no it is still there. You are right darned good.
