Message: joy,
i will tell you this as i'm sure barbara will also, you are welcome here to talk and contribute about the benefits of nail manicures and taking care of our nails without the "aid" of acrylics. we will listen all day to advice. but, don't come here and try and "sell" us on the attributes of acrylics. this is a natural nail forum. we are not here to promote adhering anything on to our nails. if you have something to contribute other than that, we welcome it.

Apology accepted! I'm sure you've come across some excellent tips on caring for damaged cuticles or helping color stay longer on the nails! Any advice you have regarding natural nails would be most welcome!

Message: Joy,
You are most welcome to join our little band of nail nutz! (Sorry ladies, but you know we are viewed that way!)..... I guess, Joy, we are over zealous about our natural nails. Since it took a lot for us to actually find something that is beneficial....
We really are not trying to change the world, just attempting to help those looking for a healthy alternative... I do hope you will join in often, because you are in a perfect situation to get information we could not otherwise obtain.. Please consider this an open invitation for you at nay time, Joy.... By the way, we have another Joy in our midst, and she is just that! A Joy... Please let us get to know you better.
Sincerely,
Barbara

Message: I just logged onto the site and I have been a nail technician for 10 years. Honestly, for you to say that acrylic nails are bad for you is your opinion. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. So, for you to tell someone that they don't need to convience someone to get acrylic nails. Then you are contridicting yourself. If this is what this forum is going to be about, to talk down to other opinions, then this does not need to be called an open forum.

Message: Hi Camela,
I'm wondering if you have a website. If so, does it have a forum? If so, I will come visit your site and offer NOT my opinion, but my real horror story experience with acrylics. Because even though it's your site, it's my right to disagree with the misinformation you spread. At least that's the impression I get from your statement.

Message: I honestly don't understand how those of you in the "business", find it so easy or even okay to interject yourselves on a forum that is specific to the care, maintenance, and reclamation of the NATURAL NAILS! Just how is it okay that you that we are not at liberty to discuss our experiences, share our ideas, and YES! HORROR STORIES!? without some one who has been misled by the industry, and continues to spread the ideas that fakes nails, regardless of their names, are anything but damaging to the natural nails? How is it possible that a website, dedicated to the care of NATURAL NAILS can make you want to butt in!
We are not on thenailgeek site, or any other site for that matter, trying to convert you people to Natural Nails.
If someone is looking for a place to help them gain back their God given, Natural Nails, then that would be their reasoning for coming to our site. If they want acrylics, or what have you, they only have to do a google on fake nails. Millions are available, need I say more?

Message: sorry you had a bad experience with your fakeys, but people are going to do whatever they want until they have their own bad experience, why do you think so many people still smoke?....
there are a lot more important things going on in the world than whether or not real or fake nails are better....perhaps we should take a step back from our terribly busy and important nail arguments and try to spread the word about things that actually matter and make an impact on the lives of PEOPLE, not our fingernails...i know this is a NATURAL NAIL FORUM....but what about the homeless people in America, the starving people in a America, the jobless people in America...just a thought...

Message: And Michelle, here too is a thought....Since you are so concerned and want us to do something, the question then becomes, why are you here, why are you not out there busy with doing good things and not here wasting your time?!

Message: Hi Michelle,
I agree with you that there are so many good causes that need our attention!! You'll be thrilled to know that many of the ladies who post on this board, and many who only post occasionally, make donations of both time and money to very worthwhile causes.
No one except the owner monitors this forum full time, so the conversations carried on here are done during our extra 'down' time, and done without guilt.

Message: I found this thread very thread humorous to read and it started my morning off with a laugh. The justification that acrylics are good just blows my mind when there is PROOF that the industry is misleading us. Now I won't even mention the horror stories that many of us ladies here have personally experienced. Naturally nailtechs will defend their industry to the hilt because it is their livelihood and of course $s to them. Your second paragraph, Michelle, really got my laugh machine going. As Barbara said, why are you are on this site if you have more important things to attend to? Send me your address and I'll send you a quarter for you to call someone to listen. I know that was uncalled for but ... I honestly loose it when people are backed up into a corner and come out swinging with the old line adage of "we should worry about more important things." I guess I should have been more tactiful with addressing this situation but I'm beyond tact at this point and anyway a person originally from NY remember has NO tact (lol)! Thanks for the laugh though.
