Subject: Curly Hair
Message: I went this morning and got my hair cut and layered. It now rests on my shoulders and I am amazed at the natural curl I have! I little mousse and it's really holding nicely. What I am wondering is this... The stylist tried to get me to buy some curl enhancing shampoo and I am wondering if anyone knows what is in the shampoo that makes it enhance curls? I didn't buy it because it was so expensive and is it REALLY any better than Fructis or Pantene?

Message: Moi,
I never tried the curling shampoo before so I have no idea personally. Something I have found out though..... If I don't use a conditioner and rinse really well, turn meself upside down and shake dry and just scrunch the hair with my fingers while drying, that seems to do the trick for me.
Faith uses some sort of curling shampoo that she picks up from Wally World.... Don't know the name of it but it has been on the market for a number of years now.... Not expensive either, otherwise Faiths' hubby would have a hissey fit!!!!!!

Message: i love my fructis even on my "color enhanced" hair. i have stick straight, thick as a horses mane hair-couldn't scare up a curl for this head!! i get excited if i find a wave when it gets humid outside! if i don't use conditioner i can't even get my fingers through my hair. i would go try the wal-mart or sally's version of curl shampoo's first, i think.

Message: I have really curly hair so lucky for me we have really low humidity here in CO. I use Nexus color assure shampoo and amazing grace conditioner to keep the curls from being crazy.

Message: I have VERY curly hair that tends to frizz in humidity, but I flat iron and fight it. People don't believe it when I tell them how curly it really is. We always want what we don't have, huh? Moi, no need to use expensive products. The trick is to coat the hair and scrunch, then don't touch it while it is drying. Have fun, curly girl!

Message: I notice stylists try to sell you things that you can find cheaper at places like Wally World. I have my hair spiked (something I should have done when I was younger but it wasn't in style). I no more have to fuss with my hair. Just get outta the shower and gel. I do buy a gel at the salon that enables me to spike it and I was talked into a leave in moose/conditioner that was expensive and I really don't like. That's the last time. The gel though I LOVE. I do exactly what you do, Barbara, in the sense that I don't use conditioner. As far as I'm concerned NOBODY can talk me into it anymore. I think conditioner weighs down my hair and my hair is very moist anyway. Weighing down hair isn't good when one is trying to spike it. I'm getting older not younger so the spike looks hip (lol).
