 Subject: Our sons G Shepherd....Message: Our eldest son, David, took my little Cierra to Canada to visit with her Mum for the summer and we have has his 2 G Shepherds here while he has been gone. Anywho....Sampson is 11 years old now, and getting that *little old man* warble to his back end. Delilah is 2 and has springs in her rump. David just left here with those babies and I am just needing to share something with all of you who are true dog (animal) lovers. Do you find yourself getting greedy, wanting them to be with us for as long as the rest of our family members are with us? I mean they are such an intricate part of our family fabric..... I am very afraid that Sampson will not be here by the time Cierra returns from Canada.... And she will be totally devastated if he isn't here upon her return. When she was a baby in her carriage, Wu grabbed the carriage and took off across the yard with her in tow and Sampson and he had a tug of war over who got the baby! They have been in her life since her conception... |

And no matter how many come and go, each one touches our lives in ways that are beyond words. Like you just said about John and Dixie! They usually come into our lives quite by accident at first, then the love sets in and there's no turning back. But I don't want to. By the way, Red was asking about the situation with John tonight. Message: oh, who knows! it's out of our hands in soooo many ways. it's turning into a smaller, leaner airline. when they agree to this contract, eventually, it will mean less pay, more flying hours, less insurance, bigger premiums and no retirement. woooo. can't trust anything in the media or management. what else is new?! he's still working, we have insurance, which i can't do without and just keep plugging along! very disheartening for john to work 17+ years to be a captain, all the training and re-current training that goes on every year, the FAA physicals every 6 months, the responsibility of flying safe and "nut-free", only to be told you have to take another paycut and the pilot group is the reason the airline is losing money. the day they called back in '89 to offer him employment, was just the best, proudest day for us both. man, how things change. he goes to work, flies safe, and does his job. jumping through the hoops all the same. |

It is very disheartening, I agree. Think of all those folks at Enron...Now there's a bunch that need to be hung out to dry too! And not just a little bit. I mean sell off everything they own and pay back some of that retirement investment money. Those people lost everything, including hope I imagine. Keep me posted. I will whisper a little prayer for your guys. |

First I thought it was about dogs and then it boils down to pilots. Don't get me started on the things that have been taken away from employees. As you know hubby's job is really in the air and who really likes that! Two weeks ago hubby and I were sitting on pins and needles but who knows when the ceiling will drop. Sometimes I wish we were back in the military and it was 1985. Oh, the dreams ... |

Each time our gov't needs money they say "let's take it away from the retirees (military). After what you've been though at all the years of employment (civilian or military) it just doesn't seem right. Why don't we take a piece of our gov't employees pay or benefits? Afterall they're off the payscale. When hubby was in the military I was sick and tired of making excuses as to WHY he became an officer. I'm sorry but I don't blame my hubby for going to college and trying to better himself! Isn't everyone taught that from when they were wee little ones? Don't get me started here too! Enlisted also look down upon the wives of officers who worked. Give me a break! |
