Subject: Heat/Humidity & NGF

Message:
It's Memorial Day Weekend and I hear the beaches calling me but I won't have the opportunity to get there until August. Even though this weather is beautiful heat/humidity come hand and hand with it (YUCK!). I have noticed that the consistency of my NGF has become a bit melted. That's not the word I'm looking for because one tends to think of liquid but it's somehow "softer" (I guess greasier is the word). I have put it in the fridge but it makes it somewhat hard to the point where it's a pain in the neck to use and scrape out of the jar. Any suggestions? Should I just keep it at room temperature? I'm leaning more towards that direction since the coldness of the fridge doesn't do it justice. BTW, it's well past 1 month and the forumula is great on my nails. You are right Barbara that it tends to have a cumulative effect. I use to rush to put on nailpolish to strengthen my nails but it just isn't a priority anymore. When I think my nails can use an extra treatment of NGF I just put it on. Since I bake/cook alot my nails are constantly in water and it doesn't seem to bother my nails. Now my hands in general need a bit of hand cream though. Notice I did not say nails. Thanks, Barb. This stuff is too good to be true. Now this is ONLY after 40 years of searching! I believe that's the same with alot of women here.

Hol,
I am in the middle of HEAT/HUMIDITY CENTRAL!!!! I understand. Just put it in the frig! I know! Sounds insane, but it will keep its consistency that way. The heat makes it almost liquid down here, so the frig gets my personal stash! If it builds up a bit of "film" after a while, just take a tissue a wipe the top layer away very lightly. It is not ruined. It is still just as effective as the day it was made.
Sorry, I guess I should put that somewhere on the website........ Well better late than never.
Thanks for all the kind words about the product, that is much appreciated. I know the product works, and works well, but getting people to give it a real go, after years of false starts and tons of wasted money, most are very leery of a product that actually works as advertised! So thanks again for saying that.

I keep little jars of NGF stashed all around. I have one in my purse, one in my car and one in the fridge. In the heat, the one in the car loses it's solid consistency, but still works wonderfully. You're right, it's an amazing product and I wish people would give it a chance to work. In this society we live in of 'I want it and I want it NOW', people seem not to have the patience needed to give anything a chance to prove itself. It's a shame, really. Over on the Q people talk about the hundreds of dollars spent on nail products, skincare products, etc... and right here on this site lies the Holy Grail of nail care products!!!

I know that it is really difficult, at best, to trust anyone you don't know......But I don't know that I have ever been quite so insulted as I was by those women on the Q about us being a "Mom and Pop" cheesy, untrustworthy sort of operation. We have been in business for ourselves for better than 35 years now, and hopefully neither Red nor myself is going anywhere, any time soon! I also know that the only way to remain in business is to give people what they pay for. Since I am very demanding of the products I purchase, I get that. (and the dollar needs to go as far as I can possible stretch it these days.)
Moi, you and Cheryl and Dap and Lynnie and Sheltie, and the rest, all of you know what a mess it became for me over there, and I don't honestly believe the issue was about me being a vendor and posting to their board either. I really believe that just a few of those women rule that roost, and they are not about to let in any outsiders......So I am just really glad that the cream of that crop from that board came over here to post and share ideas, without all of the drama that is created by a few over there. Thanks a million for being so sweet and supportive. It was a really rough emotional ride for me. They pretty much chewed me up and spit me out!
One thing I know without question is that I sincerely believe that our products and service are worth the monies we ask..... in all of our business dealings.

Those were days of emotional rollercoaster rides, Barb. That is for certain! I havn't posted there or even gone to read there in months. You really can't be yourself there without coming under someones wrath. I think much of it has to do with peoples insecurities. They need validation, and when people use what they use, eat what they eat, wear what they wear, etc... they get that validation. When there were more than a few of us saying that those things did NOT work for us, but NGF DOES, they felt attacked. And I suppose, the ones of us who came here and stay here (the cream of the crop as you call us) are the ones who do not need people thinking for us, and we do not need validation through a bunch of lemmings on a web site. We think for ourselves, make our own decisions and are better people for it. In my oh, so humble opinion!

I must say I guess I'm guilty in the sense that I posted on the Q board about an alternative to ProStrong because it was literally drying my nails out bit by bit. The suggestions put to me was NailTek and NGF. Guess what I went with? Yes, NailTek only because I haven't heard about NGF. As you can imagine the NailTek didn't work for me. Another promise! After I figured out I was wasting my money (surprisingly after only 1/2 a bottle) I then went onto NFG and boy was I surprised. Since I have found this board I notice myself posting less and less on QVC. I do read sometimes though. I guess I have to withdraw bit by bit. I really can't get enough of the lobby and beauty boards but occasionally I am known to hang out on the cooking board. Another thing I noticed when I got my NGF was the packaging. I'm not big at all on fancy schamcy packaging that only costs the consumer big time so I really liked this about the product. When the stuff in the jar worked too that was like an extra plus!

fancy schamcy packaging

Message:
Hol,
No, I am at least not guilty of fancy schamcy packaging, or much fancy schamcy anything else.... I do hope that the packaging is at least suitable for the purposes.
The thing that really hurt about all of that was when they all started attacking me about the donations thing. That was totally uncalled-for, when they only had to read and learn that we were all in this thing called LIFE, together, and helping one another as best we could and can. I am actually very proud of that accomplishment. We all showed what loving our neighbor is about. And I am glad we were at least all there for Deb when she needed a soft place to fall too. So I do not apologize for those actions in the least.
Hol, I do wander over there and read the cooking posts too! very informative, very gentle board. Not all that back biting going on. I just have no idea why they get so hostile on the *Beauty* board. As my Mum used to say, *"Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly runs to the very core!"*

In all the business classes I took in college I definitly learned about packaging. I'm really not swift at all on the fancy packaging that only costs us, the consumer, money (ex. those skincare/makeup products that you find at the makeup counters at the mall are just "purty" packaging in my eyes). You can't wear it on your face so don't waste my money. I'm VERY satisfied with your packaging, Barbara. It's the product inside the jar that really counts. The packaging reminded me of Elysee naturally until HSN got ahold of them to change their packaging. That really got me mad but the packaging isn't over the top. Linda Marshall, the owner of Elysee, really thinks the same as I do about packaging. As for the QVC boards I think people make the attacks because they can hide behind their nick and nobody knows who they are. Really makes alot of sense if you think about it. In my "older" years I just don't have time for pettiness of that nature.

Oh I am so with you on this... Time, and what we do with it, are just too, too valuable to waste on petty! I do adore the fact that so many wonderful women have joined me here. I look forward, every day, to new and interesting views from this diverse group of craze-O's. We tend to have a good time, and one thing you will learn here...We have learned to access the fact that this is a very flat medium....You can't tell the inflection, or tone from just reading the words, so take what you read with the best possible slant to it. We try to inform, (as well as entertain! lol) So please enjoy and stay with us, you are a most welcome addition here.

Thanks for the welcome, Barb. I enjoy being in a place where there isn't pettiness. I've got too many other things to deal with (lol). Like life in general (lol).
