I read about you using this nailpolish and have a few questions. I too got the mocha latte and that's the color I'm going to try next. Do you mean you don't use Honeybee's clear as a top and base coat? How many coats of the color do you use?

I just slap on a coat of what ever color I want and go! I guess I am just very fortunate with nail colors, paints, whatever you want to call them. I never have had any problems with polishing and keeping it from chipping and peeling off, regardless of the barnd name. Instead of removing the polish every time there is a little problem area, I just touch up the area, or the whole nail surface. The main reason I am so gung-ho about Melissas' products is just as I stated....NO CHEMICLES, NO ODORS, NO DEHYDRATING EFFECTS! Love it!

Believe me I LOVE the no odor and hydrating effects. What is especially nice is the polish is so thin. Maybe I'll try without the clear and see what happens. Everything is an experiment. I did notice that my nails seemed to lose a bit of their strength because I could get the NGF only on the cuticles. Who knows maybe it's all in my head. Apparently you have a much easier time of it than alot of the girls here because you don't have the peeling, etc.

Well, here's another contribution of my 2cents. Yesterday, I put on a coat of the HB clear. I'm going to give it another try >>>crossing my fingers<<<

That anonymous was me again. Just too quick with the fingers. What do you mean clear Moi? Are you saying you use clear as your basecoat and then put colors ontop of it and then a top coat over it? I guess I'm dumb but you have to lay it out for me? Actually I'm thankful for everyone posting about their experiences with this nailpolish. Gives me alot of ideas. Previously when I used Tuscany I put on a basecoat (clear), 1 coat of Tuscany because the pigment was very dark to begin with and then the topcoat (clear) and that was a no go. I'm gonna try using the Mocha Latte with everything the same except 2 coats of the color since it actually is a light color. See if that works. I'm not ready to give up yet.

Hi Hol,
Here's what happened to me. I started using the HB polish and found that my nails started peeling like they did before NGF. However, at around the same time, a very dear friend passed away and I lost it and reverted back to picking at my cuticles, nails etc. My nails were quite short again and my cuticles were chewed up. I finally got hold of myself and started using NGF 2x daily, faithfully. My nails are growing back nicely (and quickly) so I decided I would try the HB again. I am using the clear alone right now because I feel my nails are too short yet for colors, but I like the finish the clear coat gives - not too shiney but not nekkid either :) So, time will tell how my nails hold up using HB again.
One thing I am frustrated about, and I did post here about it some time ago, (when Melissa - HB lady - was actively posting here) is that when I received my French Manicure kit, every single brush in every single bottle was tweaked - bent off to the side - making it impossible to apply the polish neatly. When I'm ready to try the FM again, I will try looking for a beauty supply store that sells polish brushes and see if that will work.
I love the idea of the product, I love that the scent is almost undetectable and that it can be removed with alcohol, so I am hoping beyond hope that it will work for me.
Now, I don't know if you saw that post (there have actually been a few threads on it) where they talked about using Bare Escentuals as a nail color, but a lot of people swear by it.
I hope that helps, because I'm with you - not ready to throw in the towel!!!!
