Subject: Opinions of Honeybee Polish/Remover?
Message: I just polished my nails Friday and they literally look like hell only 2 days later. I also had a nail break, which may have been coincidental. I broke out the nailpolish remover to remove the nailpolish and it literally took me forever. Actually, I ran out of patience after only one hand so I made dinner instead. Tonight I'll tackle the other hand while watching tv. Any suggestions by those that use the product? Am I doing something wrong? I'm back to the NGF ALONE for a bit because I'd like to have nice looking nails for at least a while.

Message: Hol, I have only used the french manicure set and love the look. I have found that it lasts better when I make sure the top coat(clear) comes over the tip of nail to "seal" color. And I started using gloves to do dishes etc. As far as the remover it does take some effort. I usually soak the nail I am working on with cotton/remover and color will peel off easier. Love the concept of the remover...just wish it worked better. Good Luck tackling other hand! :)

Message: I am sorry you are experiencing problems. I use the Honeybee gardens polish and adore it. No problems at all. I have a thing for the Latte! The polish remover does take a bit of effort, but it is not full of the harsh chemicles that strip the oils from the nails or the cuticles. It does not dehydrate either, so the extra effort is worth it for me.
I guess it is all in what you want from any given product, and the Honeybee Gardens is the bomb as far as I am concerned.
But not everyone is after the same end result as I am after. I hope Melissa will get in here and help you with you issues.
Again I am sorry your experience has not been as "sweet" as mine has been with this product.

Message: Hi Hol,
I can't seem to wear the polish either. I have the same problems and I just assumed that maybe my nails were still in need of recovery. I had to stop using it and found it has taken a bit of time to get them back to where they were when I was only using NGF.
I love the colors, I love how smoothly they go on and how quickly they dry, and I REALLY love the French Manicure colors, but I can't wear them because my nails just start tearing and splitting and chipping which had stopped happening with just the NGF.
It's a fabulous idea and works for most so I plan to try again in a few months, in hopes that maybe my nails will be stronger and won't have the same reaction to the polish.

Message: Hi Hol
Unfortunately, the Honey Bee didn't work for me either. I truly do love this concept and I too wish it worked better on me. I have said all a long that not every product is for everyone. i thought about using the clear as my base coat and still using an OPI or Essie that way those polishes aren't directly on my nail, however I do not know if I will need 2 different removers or if the non-acetone will remove both? I still really like the TIPS remover even though it does contain acetone, it's fast and there seem to be enough oils in it so that it doesn't dry your nails out. Any other opinions?

Message: Christi,
I tried the TIPS just to get the honeybee nailpolish off too and it was a no go. I went to the grocery store yesterday and got non-acetone nailpolish remover so we'll see. I'm also thinking of doing that what you suggested and going back to my regular nailpolish. As you said not every product is suited for everyone. I'm gonna try that Mocha Latte that Barbara suggested and see what happens. I'm not gonna throw in the bag yet.

Message: Cher,
There are different types of alcohol. The one that Melissa uses is not one that dehydrates the nails. It will however remove the water based polishes. It does take time for it to work though, and that is because it is not loaded down with the harsh stripping chemicles other contain. But for sure, to each his own. I just love her products and find that the extra efforts are worth it to maintain my nails.
Sorry you were not as thrilled as I am with the products.

Message: Well as I've said above Barbara, not every product is for everyone. This doesn't mean that Melissa has a bad product. I think the concept is wonderful, but again it obviously isn't for everyone. But I too, would be interested in knowing the step by step process you go through. I followed the directions that came with the polish and that didn't work for me.

Message: I don't do anything "in prep" of using the product. If I want my nails polished, I just grab the bottle of the color I want and polish away. Nothing added, nothing removed. Just the polish. I am not trying to *make* anyone use Melissas' products, I just love them because they are so "friendly". No odors, no chemicals, no dehydrating. Just go ahead and use the polishes you prefer, this is only an alternative. Just make sure you use a remover that is non acetone based and even at that don't use it more than two times monthly, as recommended by the Mayo Clinic. Take great care of those babies, and just relax and enjoy.
See ya' all later....and no offence is ever taken when your opinion differs.
