Subject: I've ruined my nails! : (
Message: Hi all!
Just found this site in an attempt to find help! I've also battled with biting my nails, tried the professional artificial nail route, LOVED them! But the smell made me sick and knew it probably wasn't the healthiest thing to do, plus the expense etc. The last manicurist really filed and buffed my nails to where they HURT now. They are very weak and broken. I finally used some cheapy artifical nails to applyl myself, when I took them off 10 days later, I found 3 of my nails apparently have some purplish/green fungus on them. Plus being weak and broken off...sigh....pitiful! Anyone else do this to themselves? A good product on this website to try? Thanks so much, Cathy

Message: Hi Cathy! I too was an acrylic junkie and have had my nails done for the past 20+ years. I decided in December to take them off and use the "glue on" nails until mine grew out. What a horrible idea! Those glue on nails made the deepest ridges in my nails that I never got with acrylics. It's all bad and depending on where you go, they aren't using acrylic, but instead are using porcelain which is against the law in most states. I cannot comment on this product as I just ordered it yesterday, so I'm patiently waiting to receive it and give it a try. After reading all of the comments on this board and how well the product works, I have no doubts it will be the product for me! Good luck!

Message: kathy,i feel for you it will take some time befor your nails will feel as tho their not going to fall off. if i could make 2 suggestions,1 wear gloves when scrubing or doing dishes,2,about bitting your nails they make a product for babies that suck their thumb, it tast bitter, put it around your nail area and maybe this will discourage you from bitting, you can get this product at walgreens or longs in the baby section.good luck

Message: anonymous,
who are you? we like names here. good suggestions, but i used to bite right through the bitter stuff. most chronic nail biters do. i found if i keep the nails hydrated, pink and healthy, then i have nothing to pick at or annoy me. all it takes for most biters is just one piece of skin to start the whole ugly process. Cathy, try the Nail Growth Formula. it will heal and bring your sore nails back to life.

Message: sorry cher, didn't put the IP address together with the name until now. i also tried the "hot stuff" on my bitten nails too-not good when you get it in your eyes, from accidentally rubbing them! lots and lots of cold water it took to stop the burning! just from having bitten my nails for 35+ years, there wasn't anything i couldn't bite through, including acrylics. pretty sad it was!
