Subject: Acrylic vs other forms
Message: I have always had thin nails and recently, I've been getting acrylic nails and I know it's bad...my question regards my naural nails. For years when I used to paint my own nails, I would always have chips the same day I painted them and I would get little bubbles in the polish and my nails would dry with these little bumps. I like the smooth finish I get from acrylics, as well as the length... here's my question...what is the best treatment I can get that is healthy for the nails? Can I have the tech paint a tip with my fave nail color (like a french manicure) and then have them put on gel? Is that safer than the acrylics? My nails never stay long and I want soemthing that would allow them to be pretty and healthy...and long. I hate short nails...any info would be great...

Message: Susan, I would honestly try this Nail Growth Formula. I really think you'll be able to get away from acrylics for good. It's much cheaper than acrylics too. It's amazing how hard your nails get and I've only been using it for less than a week. I've cut my nails (not short) so I actually don't know how long I can get them. Hope somebody will chime in.

Message: Susan,
no matter what you do, acrylic, gels, fiberglass, silk, etc., what is done to the nail bed before, the roughing up or etching, is what starts the destruction of your nail bed. the dehydrater, the acid primer and the fills and filing every 2 weeks will destroy what's left underneath. gels are not always gels. they are sold as such, but most of the time, are acrylics in disguise. there are very few techs out there that are adept at applying gels. it's not an easy application to learn and become good at. acrylics will soak off in acetone. gels have to be drilled or filed off. the best, healthy treatment you can get for your nails is right here. any hard surface bonded to your nail bed is just going to destroy it and make it weaker and weaker. is that what you really want to do to them?
