Subject: Buffing
Message: Hi! I am about 4 months off acrylics and am still trying to find the product that works for me. I've tried Nutra Nail, ProStrong, Qtica and nothing seems to be working, which is why I was on this website.
I noticed that here we are being told to "buff" our nails with the buffing cream. I have always been told NOT to ever ever ever buff your nails or cut your cuticles. So I'm just wondering why now is it ok to buff our nails. It seems like a logical thing to do, but after doing some much research I'm so confused and I'm not sure what to do and what not to do or what product to use and what product not to use. I would really appreciate some expert advice for those that have been using this project. I can't see how a leather buffer could make your nails weak, but again it's what I've always been told. Many Many Many Thanks!! Christi

Message: As far as being told not to buff I thought they meant not to buff with a file buffer and that the buffing cream is ok to buff with because it is way less harsh and abrasive than the file. The granules in it are so small that the buffing properties of it are fine and buff just barely enough to even out and chips cracks or unevenness. As far as buffing with leather I think leather would be better than a file buffer tool because the leather is smooth where the file buffer is not and could catch chips and snags and help rip peel and crack them more. They do say that if you use one of those file buffer cubes or any buffing tool for that matter, to use it in direction the nail grows...like from cuticle towards nail tip.
This is my opinion of it all hope it helps.

Message: christi,i think when you buff your nails with the sanding blocks, your taking a layer of your nail bed with it,where as when you buff with cream & camoise buffer your not taking any of the nail bed with it,just becareful of friction good luck.
