 Subject: Awful Auful AWFUL cuticles!!! Message: hello all, I have the WORST cuticles in the world...thick, dry, splitting...just plain awful. That's because I have a lifelong biting and picking problem...I am amazed that I have never gotten an infection. On the rare occasion where I stop biting them, they grow back so thick and rough that I feel like I need to cut them off and the cycle starts all over again. I have so much cuticle that if I use a cuticle remover like Blue Cross I need to leave it on at least twice as long as you are supposed to. I don't use cuticle removers anymore because they make the dryness even worse. I have great nails when I am willing to take care of them, but my cuticles have ALWAYS looked bad. Do I have any hope that I can stop the cutting for good and the regrowth/thickness/ptgyerium (is that how you spell it? LOL) will finally ease up a bit? I'm hearing great things about the formula. Message: Michelle, of course you have hope! you're lucky your nails are very forgving when you do take care of them and let them heal. in your case, possibly, the more you cut the cuticles the more and thicker, they want to grow. so many of us do cut them and allow manicurists to cut them and it should never be done as a part of maintaining our nails. when you do have hang nails, only then, should they be nipped off. nipping is always better than ripping! they are part of keeping our nails healthy and growing. i think once you have used the nail growth formula for a few weeks your cuticles will do a complete turn-around. my cuticles saw the benefits immediately. hard water in our homes and anti-bacterial soaps can lead to further drying of our hands, nails and cuticles. |

Message: Michelle - definitely, one of the "side effects" of using this nail growth formula is conditioned, receded cuticles. Also, look for Glysomed hand cream ($2.99 per tube at places like Walgreen and Rite Aid). Does a good job on cuticles as well as hands. And, if you use any sort of glycolic acid product on your face before bed, use a little on your cuticles, then follow with lotion. |

I was a chronic biter and picker. I would not leave my cuticles alone - I would pick and bite until they would bleed. I had great nails, but was embarrased to show my hands because of my cuticles - did that stop me from picking and biting?? Nope!! It wasn't until I found the NGF that it helped. First of all, it conditioned my cuticles better than anything I had ever used. Second, when I got the urge to pick and bite, I tried to replace that with rubbing in the formula. Third, the scent lingers - so as I would put my hand near my mouth to bite and chew, the scent (which is pleasant by the way) would remind me that I was trying not to do that anymore. And fourth, though the scent is pleasant - the taste is not and was a deterrent for me. I hope this helps and that you find what you are looking for. |
