Subject: Nail growing ?
Message: Ok, I slammed my finger in my heavy car door, and it turned purple, and i have a horrible nail biting problem im battling with, but i bit into it and wasnt paying attention and i bit away almost 3/4 of the nail!!! it doesnt even hurt, but the 1/4 left is the left side of the nail with a little bit still attatched to the base and then almost 1/2 moons along to the front of the nail, and its still alive and well attached, and hurts if i do anything, no blood or anything, and it seems theres a hard nail underneath now, as if it started to grow under the old nail,
but what can i do to take off this 1/4 of the nail thats hanging on?

Message: erik,
absolutely nothing, other than going to a doctor and having him cut the rest off. that wouldn't be quite as much fun, now would it? i cringe when i think about gnawing on a nail that has been injured in a closing door. believe me, i've had some "good" gnawing sessions in my nail biting years, but i can't say i ever did a number on a purple, smushed, injured nail! just leave it alone. that's the best thing you can do for it AND all the others.

Message: you've got to want to stop and be sick of it-the pain, the embarassment, all of it. until you are, you're not going to stop gnawing. it's not subconscious, you know exactly what you're doing and when you're doing it. it feels good to do it. it takes years, sometimes, to break the habit. i still want to everyday, but i don't, because, it's not something i wanted to be doing when i was 40 years old. all the germs that go into your mouth, that way, is just sickening, literally and physically.

Message: My nails are not growing. i dont bit them but i do pick at them without even realizing it. I have nail growth nail polish but after two weeks of using it faithfully day and night and not seing any improvement i give up and quit. I have never had a manicure or had fake nails put on. I would like to try it once but i want it to look as natural as possible. Any tips or ideas to stimulate nail growth or on what kind of fake nails i should get. Are my nails to short for a manicure? Please reply ASAP

Message: please, please, please,do not get acrylics put on. what you will be left with, underneath, takes months to recover. they will thin out and destroy your own nail bed. the strength in nail polish is in the polish itself. you need to make your own nails healthier, not damage them even more. go get a natural manicure at a reputable, clean, nail salon. they've seen them all lengths, i'm sure. scroll down to the "home page" link here and read about the nail growth formula. if you are picking at them badly, then you are going to need longer than 2 weeks to see any recovery. some peoples nails just grow faster than others. our nails strength and healthy growth lies, so much, in our genetics. if you respond to this, please give us a name. anonymous is, well, just anonymous. i like to know who i'm talking to.

Message: I'm not sure how to explain this, But I had my acrylliic(sp) nails taken off a few weeks ago. And i noticed that one of my nails were split very close to the end. not all the way, just half. And it's growing. So now two parts of my nail is growing. Will it ever grow the way nails are supposed to grow, to the end of the nail

Message: Barbara is totally right. I'm surprised how my nails look too and have only been using it for less than a week.
