Subject: nail problems
Message: Hello,
Does anyone know the possible cause for my nails flattening and growing downward. They have never done this before. I finally start getting them to grow and be pretty and now they are doing this! Any comments?
Thanks,
Cherie

Message: Hi Cherie,
I have one nail that sounds like it has the same problem as yours do. I decided to go surfing to see if I could find anything on the subject. I found the site below that does have some pretty good information so I thought I would share it with you.

Message: Well, speaking of nail problems, I have the weirdest thing happening to one of mine. All my nails are about four centimeters long, and I'm proud of them. One of them, however, has a strange smell under the nail, right beside the skin, that smells just like rich soil! I am obsessed with cleaning my nails and can't stand grains of anything under there, and I had noticed a small, dark granule under the nail with the smell, and in picking it out (with my teeth, which might sound gross, only my nails are always super clean) it went into my mouth and I could taste dirt. It may have been just dirt, but upon washing and scrubbing the nail over and over again, it still smells like dirt! I hope someone can give me a suggestion.

Message: Violet,
May be seeing a doctor for OCD would be in order...lol..... Seriously, you may need to just relax a bit. Enjoy the fact that your nails are strong and healthy and relax with it.
No matter how clean your nails look, bacteria is not necessarily visible, so I would not put those nails in my mouth if I were you....

Message: sounds like you've scrubbed it so much and kept it in water so much that you've grown a fungus. it could smell like dirt. have a lot of time on your hands, do you?
