Message: Hi Cheryl... I agree. I questioned them about why it only costs a couple dollars to send something back to Q in PA and they said that it costs more to ship to a home than a business too. They got me coming and going! I remember Sue saying that it cost her $18 just to send it to me from CO.
Well, hopefully when you get it there will be lot's of fun fun things for you! I put my contributions in a large zip bag with my name on it :)

Message: We will do something about the shipping so that you can participate, Ruth. More to ship to a home than a business? Ridiculous. And I agree with Cheryl - charging for tape?? Good Lord - I have gone into my PO - box wide open, used their tape and their sharpie to put the address on - no charge!!!
Another thing - the box doesn't have to go fast, it can be shipped sloooooooow - we wait alittle longer, but nothing inside will change. Or, someone can take a look at the "geography" and if you can come up with a better order - feel free to change it. I hated geography - so, it won't be me....lol

Message: Thank you, Deb! I had such a great time the first round!
When I shipped the package to cheryl, I went to the UPS store. When I shipped the BB to Lynn, I went to our post office. The employee said that it had to go priority because there were already priority stickers on it and when we sealed the box, we taped over those stickers. If I had been there, I would have taken the box back home and redid it, but my kids carried it in for me and didn't know any better.
I do feel like I got ripped off, big time.

Message: Um, hope nobody here has a loved one that works as a postal clerk, but should we be surprised?! Their clerk programming must have kicked in when they saw the Priority sticker. Talk about rigid, not to mention a major ripoff. What I like about the shipping store is that they will give you the best price, even if you are paying them a little handling fee.
Yep, somehow we need to rework this system. First, we have to remove any items that haven't been adopted.

Message: Yep - we are beautiful and smart, and kids will be kids - they didnt' know, they were just helping Mom. What a learning experience on the ways of our postal service. Think a guy would have gotten a better price? Think we could bribe them with a beauty sample or two.....lol

Message: I'm reading all this stuff about shipping and it has my head spinning. We ship stuff here at work every day - it's my largest expense next to cost of goods. My advice is to do your homework. Use a bathroom scale and get a weight on the package (this may mean you have to weigh yourself first, and I apologize for that - but it will get you in a fighting mood). Then go to www.usps.com There you can put in the weight of the box and the zip code to where you're sending it. You'll get ACCURATE prices. Also go to www.ups.com Again, put in the info. Compare the two. It does cost more $ to ship residential via UPS. No ways around it. With USPS it doesn't matter. Anything under a pound or two is always cheaper to ship USPS. Over about two pounds and it can go either way, depending on where you're shipping in the country. Oh and regarding the Priority Mail stickers - they could have used a Sharpie to scribbled over that - that's BS. Hope this helps!

Message: I use priority for the business, as you all know. Because it is much faster and we can track and confirm delivery and it's only $4.05. If memory serves me at all, I believe I paid just about $15 or $16.00 to ship the BB last time. I am so over UPS for shipment of anything. I would rather pay FedEx to ship than the UPS people. They are not at all trust worthy in this area. And you can forget filing a claim when things get lost or damaged during shipment! What a JOKE that is!

Message: i sent the box on yesterday, via UPS, and it was $14.85. we have a direct UPS shipping center that's very close to me. i've never had any problems with the USPS, but there's always a line-a huge joke around here, closed service windows, and no convenient parking. only go if you have a lot of spare time!
