Subject: Ojon Question

Message:
In the beauty box there were some samples of Ojon which I have wanted to try for a long time. I took the samples, but I'm wondering how to use what was in the little white jar. I don't know what it is, it just said Ojon. I think it's probably the restorative hair treatment. Anyone know how to use this? Do you use it before shampooing or after. Do you leave it in.... I have no clue and I looked on Q but it doesn't say. Thanks!

Moi, it probably is the Restorative. Mine is in a brown jar, but maybe the samples come in white. Is it greasy looking and smells a bit like coffee and cigars? I'm one of the weirdos who likes the smell.

Here's what you do with the Restorative. I do it once per week. Some people like to use it overnight, but I think that is overkill. You use it on your dry hair before you wash. I do it when nobody is around to say "Ewwww, you stink!" You start with about 1/2 tsp., rub and emulsify it in your hands and work it through your hair, scalp and all. It's good for the scalp. Then repeat this as many times as needed till your hair is coated well/saturated. Usually 3 or 4 times does it. Then I put on a plastic shower cap and blast and aim my blowdryer under it for 5 minutes or so to trap the heat. I keep the cap on an hour till it starts annoying me. Then I just hang out till I feel like washing my hair a couple hours. You can shorten that time if you wish. Then you just shampoo. If it still feels too greasy, two light shampoos are fine. I don't even use a conditioner after shampooing. This product has grown on me and I really like it. You can also buy it on Ebay. Let me know how you do!

Describe your hair, Moi! My hair is thick, dead straight, shoulder length layers. On it's own there is NO inclination to body or lift. OJON gave me a new head of hair! I love it. I'm sporting the OJON updo right now. If your ends seem dry after you've shampooed the treatment out, take a tiny ball of the treatment, warm it in your hands, smooth through your ends and leave it in.

I got the try me kit from our belooved QVC. It takes such a little amount of each product, even though the bottles are small they are lasting a long time. A very good price, if you can swing it. And there's always that 30 day deal!

On any OJON item description at qvc.com click on the OJON banner at the bottom of the page and you will get a ton of information on using the products.

The scent, to me, is incense and roasted dark chocolate/coffee. mmmmmmm!!

Lark - thanks for the idea about using it as a leave in. I actually MISS the smell of it when I don't do a treatment. Hey, did you try that glossing mist? That's nice too.

OK, don't start throwing things at me through the computer screen, but I hated the smell of the Ojon Restorative Treatment so much that I threw it out (it was past the 30 days and before I knew all you nice ladies, otherwise I would have gladly mailed it to you!) That scent just lingered and bothered me everywhere I went, so I figured everyone I came in contact with would think I had just smoked a cigar.

But there were so many raves on the Q boards for the treatment and the newer products, and my hair has become even dryer and thinner from medications, that I gave in and bought the try me kit. I will use it tomorrow. I'll try to give it a fair shot this time and will let you know. And I promise, if I don't like it, I'll donate it to the beauty box!

Heavens Jill! If you don't like it send it back and get your money back! (Hee hee, I am such an el cheapo!)

I had to stop wearing my own perfume years ago; if I'm at a function where a lot of decked out Ladies AND Gents have splashed on the cologne, after shave; parfum . . . . I am SO out of there! Yet, the scent of the OJON doesn't bother me in the slightest. I do leave the restorative in overnight.

??? Funny how different noses tolerate different things. =^ )

Lark - I don't know if I can bring myself to spend that much on the gloss duo! We'll see after those baby bottles are gone. Plus, also like and use Nick Chavez products.

Jill - If the Ojon doesn't work out for you, send it back try the Nick Chavez strengthening line. My sister had terrible problems with her hair from meds this year, even shedding. She's had chemo and radiation in the past and her hair hasn't been the same since. This line is designed to minimize breakage and weakness. She's hooked on it now and her hair isn't as fragile when it comes to styling or coloring. It really smooths the cuticle of the hair and makes it very shiny and manageable.

Ok...I am a weirdo also becuase I LOVE the smell of the Ojon restorative treatment..I do what Lynnie does but I put a heating cap on for 30 min.instead of the blow dryer. My hair is very thick and dry and Ojon has been a blessing for me!To me it smells like Starbucks coffee...yummy!Last summer I did use the restorative as a leave in treatment to combat the frizzes because I have a natural wave to my thick hair and it really helped.
Jill and Moi I hope it works for you.

I wish I had read this before I used the shampoo first. Oh, well.
I LOVE the smell of the shampoo and conditioner. It really is nice and it's the first shampoo (Other than fructis and pantene) that didn't make my hair frizz out 3 feet.

My hair is pretty long and has a lot of body but I wouldn't call it curly. It's not fine hair, but it's not thick either. When I complained to a stylist about my hair being so fine, she corrected me and said that I had perfect hair, not fine - just not a lot of it. Whatever that means. LOL

Thanks for the help, you ladies are phenomenal!

'Morning Moi! The shampoo/conditioner are like a mini-treatment. If you are happy with that, I would say use the restorative today on dry hair, leave it in as long as you can, then shampoo/condition again.

OJON is cumulative. Saturday was my 3rd go with the restorative and then I shampooed and conditioned yesterday. My hair this morning is fab! Lots of body. Not a usual comment from me about my hair upon waking!! =^ )
