I can't believe I'm admitting this here - some of my friends/co-workers don't even known it - but I modeled for years. I want to caution you that it's NOT all glamour and big bucks. It's hard work, and TONS of scrutiny which can create a sense of inferiority. Keep an eye on your daughter - make sure she's having FUN and keeps a realistic perspective on things. At 5'9" I weighed 122 lbs. and thought I was a blimp. Don't let that happen to your daughter. Let her know she's beautiful on the inside and outside. Best of luck to you and her. |

She has our total support - in or out. In my book, she is already a winner, but I am just the Mom, what do I know. She has had enough "gigs" to know that it's not all glitz and glamour, so I think she is pretty realistic. She is only 23 (I know that is old in the model world), but she has already been though so much and has lots of life experiences. I just talked to her. She is number 332 in line. They said that they should be able to get in 300-350 today. So, keep you fingers crossed that the line moves swiftly. She also said that several "stations" have been up and down the line with cameras and snapped her photo a few times. That's a good sign, right??? I'll keep you posted. |

The deadline for submissions is Feb. 23rd. After that they will contact those who they want to see again and the process begins. At least she made it in. She said that there must have been 1000 girls in line - she was number 332!!! |
