 Subject: How Ironic ?? !!!Message: Apologies in advance for spouting off here! I am this --->*<--- close to posting at that D*$@ qvc board! "smoochy" has a thread going; "Where are the Missing Posters?" Well, she's named a couple that aren't gone at all, just what they have to say doesn't fall into her center of the universe, so to her mind they are not there. And others? Would it ever occur to her that maybe part of the reason they've left that board is because of self-righteous, judgemental people like herself? In reply to another thread she said she's pretty much a jewelry gal and just having fun with her jewelry hobby. The jewelry forum is the one she visits--yada,yada,yada. I guess she has a selective memory! Or, maybe she feels her "work" at the beauty forum is done? No need to return! Barb, your concern about her getting gel nails? Now, a couple of replies on that thread sounded to me, loud and clear, that the authors had more than a passing interest in promoting that brand! Why didn't Sheriff Smoochy jump on them? Smoochy is very up front about *calling everyone to the curb*! At any rate there is no winning there. So I hope you don't get your pressure up about those people! It just isn't worth the fighting over. So kick back, grab your formula, and rub and relax! You are so above all of that over there..... I say to them all, YOU WANT GELS, ACRYLICS, ALL THINGS FAKE, DO DIVE IN. BUT CAUTION! THE CONSEQUENCES CAN BE BAD ONES! |

Message: You know, lark, I stopped posting there because it seemed to me that the people who wanted to post about items/products that were not Q based or were not as popular as others were bashed and trashed, yet others who posted about their sexual escapades and preferences were lauded as guru's and 'experts' merely because they used a product. I got tired of seeing people whose opinions I valued and enjoyed reading get trashed. Just my 2¢ |

Message: Lark, I think you summed up well the reason that so many of us have either stopped visiting the q boards or just go there selectively and occasionally. I, too, noticed that some of the people I really enjoyed hearing from are long gone. I've read that some people go to a website called EZBoards or something like that and it has a QVC section, but I haven't checked it out. I'm just kind of burned out on the whole thing unless I'm seeking a recommendation for a specific product. I've also heard good things about MakeUpAlley for ratings on make up and skin care products - I've only skimmed the website. So there are options - and nice options like right here! Jill |

I shouldn't stop . . . especially when I get cranky and post on your pretty pink forum! Jill, I have read a bit at MUA and it seems a good place; I'm not that into make-up though. Pretty much a clean, bare face 364 days a year. They sure do demystify all the claims and hocus pocus that the manufacturers put to their ingredients. LOL Love that. EZBoard-QVC Fans Forum is a very peaceful place. Any shenanigans and the lady that built it will bounce the offender. Hope everyone is safe tonight. Has Karen checked in since The Snow? When people spew their venom, without consequences! I just gets terribly upset with the fact that there is no reasoning with the "all knowing, unknowings!" It doesn't matter which side of the proverbial fence you're on, they will jump to the other side, just to *pick a fight*. One of our sons hosts a forum for Grand Prix gurus, and he told me yesterday, it never fails, the forums draw nameless, faceless, angry people, that just want to assert themselves on every one else, while they walk off laughing at the pot of poop they stirred up! So the best way to combat them is to ABSOLUTELY, NOT respond to ANY thing they do or say! Just close ranks with others of like mind, and push out the bullies by not giving them a voice or a megaphone! I honestly believe it is the Smoochy mentality that is the driving force behind events much larger than the forum arguments. (not Smoochy personally, but her type!) It perpetuates great divides, and inflames the passions of other angry, or easily upset people. Gives rise to make them believe they can do and say anything without assuming any responsibility for their words and actions. The sad part is the fact that NO ONE is balancing the equation. The ones in charge are Barney Fifes on patrol. |
