Subject: First manicure after falsies
Message: Hello Barbara, and everyone. Since October, I have been in acrylics recovery and my nails were absolutely trashed. It has taken a full 4 months for them to heal and grow out to the point where they don't simply crack and peel whenever the tip gets the teeniest bit of white. Today I treated myself to a pedicure and decided to get a manicure as well. After just a standard manicure with some cuticle trimming and a buffing, my nails and hands finally are publicly presentable! I am hopeful now that I can maintain them and take care of my own hands to keep them looking nice. My nails are still very short and I hope to grow them to a nice length, but they look sooooo much better.
THANK YOU!!

Message: Kat-I am so glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. But I would off up a piece of advise about those cuticles....Do NOT cut your cuticles. They are there for a reason. They are the *bumper guard* or barrier around the rim of the nails. They provide a measure of protection. And if you cut them, you are also opening yourself up to possible infections. Just keep them soft and supple and pushed back with your own fingertip while applying the growth formula. It is paramount that you do not allow your manicurist to cut those babies! Please reconsider this one last issue on your path to recovery.
Thanks for letting us know how your nails are doing though, that IS great news. Keep it up and keep us informed. And remember rub, don't cut!

Message: Well congrats, Kat! That is awesome!!!
I have been trying to apply colored polish and can't get it on right to save my life. I've been thinking about a manicure, but planning on what I am going to insist on. For one, I'll take in my NGF and for two, they better not come near me with nippers! LOL
