Subject: Well, I can't put it off any longer!
Message: Yes ladies, it is that time of year. Time to get our calculators oiled up and in high speed.
What is it, you ask!
Well, IT"S TAX TIME! You know, after the fat guy dressed in the red suit departs and drops the final bill on our desks, but before the July fireworks. TAX TIME!
I was able to put it off while my better half was sick and needed TLC, but no longer. So I go into the deep recesses of the file cabinets, dig out those trusty, dingy, wrinkled receipts, and add them again and again until I can come up with a convincing figure, (that can be proven,) and submit my final plea of poverty to that skinny, ugly guy, in that stupid hat and suit, and pray that my endless stream of calculator tape takes me to a place that will allow us yet another year of grinding out money for that well known and overrated establishment they call our government! {and UNCLE SAM will of course, once again, win the money war!}

Message: I feel your pain - can you feel mine? As a fellow owner of my own business, it's just amazing how many little categories and details we must keep meticulous records for. It was definitely easier when I was on staff at a corporation! It just doesn't seem right to have to generate such an endless stream of paperwork for such a modest income! If they didn't make us spend countless hours and weeks tallying everything up, we could be out there growing our businesses!
So that tap, tap, tap you hear coming from the west coast - joining yours in a duet of calculations - is a fellow overly taxed entrepreneur!

Message: A rousing chorus goes up to the heaves, tap, tap, tap, of the calculator keys.
Find me the receipts for those ink cartridges, oh and get me some calculator tape please, oh crap, I have to go spend money now so I can save the receipt for the calculator tape that I need today, that they will NEED proof of purchase of for next years taxes!

Message: My apologies for using that "tap, tap, tap" phrase...the last thing I'd want to do is cause nightmares! So let me rephrase that as the "click, click, click" of the computer keyboard.
Perhaps someone in Hollywood will make a horror movie called "The Revenge of the TIPS Lady!"

Message: I'm right there with you ladies! Between the three corporations (with taxes due 3/15, not 4/15) personal taxes and payroll stuff I feel like I should own a wing at the white house. It's to the point where you almost dread making money - because you know uncle sam's gonna have his hands out to take it!!

Message: Queen- I am right there with ya! The only saving grace for us is we are not inc. and we have no "payroll"! We use all contract 1099...... But separating out who got what piece of whatever on a CC bill is a grade a if you don't get it into the book keeping software the day your bring the piece home. We too have 3 respective businesses but they are all under the umbrella of Red Wheeler associates as subsidiaries. It makes this process a lot less difficult!
See ya'll later! Tap, click, tap, click!

Message: I finally found someone that might listen to me and sympathize with me! No one here will. After having family here for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, getting to cook and wash towels till I was blue in the face....and, oh yeah, I turned another year older the day after Christmas...., then I got to do the Payroll Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-end reports for two corporations. I finally took my Christmas decorations down on January 15th...and I'm really trying to do my "thank yous". And I missed MANY days of doing my daily fingernail treatments. The dust is finally settling, but....that means I probably better do some cleaning! But the nails come first! Thanks for listening. No one here will :-)

Message: Dorothy,
You are among kindred spirits on this forum. These lovely people let me blow off steam about my situations and embrace me with loving arms and support. It sounds as if you did far more than your fair share of entertaining and working this past holiday season. And a belated happy birthday to you. My mother's birthday is New Year's Day and my uncle's (her brother's) birthday is Christmas and I know they feel that their birthdays are often overlooked in the midst of all the holiday celebrations and errands. So I hope you could take a little time off.

Message: Dorothy!
We are here for you, doll. You can come here any old time and vent. And you DO take that time for your nails now and next year you MAKE yourself take time for your nails. Tell someone else to do the dishes or have someone else bring a side dish and the time you would have spent making it, DO YOUR TREATMENT!
