Subject: Acrylic Removal
Message: This may sound stupid but here it goes anyway...
I was just recently in a wedding and all the girls had acrylic nails done along with hair and the works. I have never had nails this strong before but they are growing and there are gaps at my cuticles now. Being a new mom of 13 month old twins, I don't have the time or extra money to maintain the nails. I would rather get these nails off and grow my own back.
I had one of the acrylic nails get loose and pulled off. In the process it tore my actual nail. How do I get these off without tearing the rest of my nails? Can I soak them in polish remover or is there some other way to remove them?
Any help will greatly appreciated.

Message: Angie,
You will probably do best to go to a salon where your nails can be removed without more trama to the natural nails. The adhesive used to "glue" the nails on will tear out hunks of the nails and could lead to infection. Please e-mail me personally at barbara@fingernailcare.com. There are a few things I would like to discuss with you personally.
Try using some vitamin E oil on your cuticles to repair and mend the delicate tissue around the edges of the nails and cuticle areas.

Message: Do you know of any natural products or anything I could do to repair a broken nail at least for a couple weeks. I wear my natural nails and they are very long. I was told a Lipton tea bag would help. Do you have any suggestions for what I can do to mend a broken nail without having to spend a lot of extra money? Thank you for your time.

Message: I bought a bottle of liquid Vitamine E from Wal-Mart and carried it everywhere I went. I would rub a drop into each nail and nail bed each and everytime I thought about my nails. My nails would soak up the oil quickly. As the nails were healing they soaked up less quickly. They still soak up the oil when I think of it. Whenever mine are feeling dry I use some. This combined with the product from Barbara and it seemed like no time and my nailes were growing and healing.
I hope this helps you.

Message: Home Removal of Acrylic Nails in a Nut Shell
you need these things:
cotton balls
acetone/acetone polish remover
tin foil
Soak the cotton balls with the acetone/remover.
place it on top of the nail
Wrap with tin foil
let "soak" for 20 minutes and remove wiping the product as you do to remove what is loose.
Repeat until all gone.
DO NOT "pull" the acrylic off what ever you do! Let it soak off with the acetone only. Pulling it off will only cause damage.
Note this too...if you had them done in a discount salon, it may take about 2 hours to completely remove them. MMA based acrlic is VERY difficult to remove, and that's what Disounters generally use.
