Subject: Acrylics are so bad - even short-term
Message: I'm really happy to see you ladies encouraging others to have their acrylic nails removed. I've always had natural nails, but two of my nails broke right before my QVC debut. In order for them to look nice - and to show that our polish can be used on acrylics - I had two tips put on each hand. After only two days they were driving me INSANE. I felt like I had gloves on my fingertips, or something. I couldn't wait to have them taken off, which I did. The salon didn't soak them - the woman literally pryed them off with a sharp implement (which hurt). And now after only having had them on for five days, my nails are destroyed. Thin, no strength and prone to breakage. Why would anyone want to do this to their nails??

Message: Accckkkkk! Queen Bee, you should have come here first. We'd have told you to insist she soak them off or Cheryl would have given you her instructions for removal at home. The minute you see the nippers come out, you should run because the prying takes the upper layer of your nail with it. That's why they feel thinner.
I had the gentlest, most conscientious nail tech ever. She always kept a keen eye out for any problems happening underneath that I didn't notice. When she removed mine, she soaked them off, buffed and hydrated with oil. STILL, acrylics, the bonders and that drilling and filing is a damaging process in itself. But, people get hooked on it once they start. Like you, people will start when their nails are poor shape and they have a special occasion coming up. I stayed with it because I liked the pampering, the social hour and I was afraid of what my nails would look like underneath when I removed them!
Now you can join us rubbing in the NGF!

Message: Morning ladies.....
Melissa, as soon as you receive you package from me, begin applying the Natural Nails Growth Formula. That more than anything will help you recover from what the *tech* has done....They should be MADE to wear the things! Why don't they wear the things?
Lynnie, you were one of only a handful nation wide that had the benefit of someone that actually cared.
Speaking of all that, where the hack did KIM disappear to?!?!?! She ordered the little jar and I sent the big one to make certain she received enough to *RESEARCH* til she drops. I think I we scammed!

Message: I look forward to trying the nail growth. How often should I apply it, and will it still work if I'm wearing polish (or must I go "naked" for a few days)?

Message: Melissa,
now you see what so many of us have been through, unfortunately, only that abuse was reaped upon ALL 10 of them! it was such a painful process to go through. i won't even go into the drill burns, allergic reactions to the acrylic, or the fungal and bacterial infections. your tips should have been soaked off. it's not hard to do. it just takes a little more time. something "nail techs" apparently don't have! going without polish will help speed the recovery of the two that were abused and just might do wonderful things for the rest! barbara always says, during the first 30 days it's best to go without polish. that way you can see how pink and healthy they start to become.

Message: Not only was it heaped on all 10, it was done month after month after month FOR YEARS.
Melissa, the directions are to use the product 2x daily, rubbing the NGF into each nail for about a minute. Some of us use a soft buffer to rub it in, because we can do more nails in 1 shot and it goes faster. LOL
Now, for the 1st month it's encouraged to use it on bare nails so that the product can fully penetrate the nail bed and cuticle. I did it that way and my nails look great. I think there were a couple here who used polish anyway, so they can better tell you what to expect if you do. Rebels, they are ;)
It's such a blessing to finally find other people who are tired of the acrylic craze. The ladies here have been such a support for me. I almost caved after trying the ProStrong line and having it not work. I was skeptical when I tried this product because nothing else had worked. But now, I will never go back to acrylics and I owe that to Barb and the fabulous ladies here.

Message: Mio -- Do you use the buffer that Barbara sells to buff the NGF in? I just started with the formula a few days ago, and am already seeing a difference, but sitting still for a whole 10 minutes is hard to do!! Anything that will make the process go more quickly sounds good to me! Thanks-

Message: Hi Nance, yes I use that buffer that came with the kit to use the NGF. I only use the buffing cream 2x a month, if that. My nails are sooo much better than they ever have been, but they are still in recovery. LOL

Message: Cheryl - I once had an "emergency" repair done on a thumbnail when my gal was on vacation. I stopped in one of the Oriental walk-in chop shops in the mall. She pried off the entire thumbnail and massacred my cuticle when she smoothed out, all the while speaking Vietnamese to her coworkers. A month later I had both a bacterial and fungal infection. After that that nail could never tolerate acrylics without getting infected after a couple months of wear. The bed is permanently wavy as well. So, I did a French manicure on that nail and continued with the other 9 a couple more years. How dumb!
Queen Bee - I'd go naked a couple days for the benefit of the ones you just had done. The NGF will sort of seal the peeled layers in time. That's the most amazing thing about this product to me, the no-peelies factor. If your nails aren't thin, you may even want to buff lightly. I've been using my NGF right along with the polish. Neither treatment seems to affect the other. You still get benefits from the cream on the very tip edge of the nail where peeling could start as well as stimulation and hydration of cuticles. Good luck!

Message: Melissa,
Ya' really otta go *nekked* for the first 30 days to give the formula the fullest chance to jump start the healthy growth pattern. But it is up to you. If you decide to stay covered up, make certain to concentreat the rubbing efforts on the matrix and rub it into those cuticles really well.
If you're short on time just buff it into four nails at once, then work on the thumbs. It is a faster way if you are really crunched for time.
