Subject: Debbie, About the Buffing Cream
Message: Since the "Re: Comparing nails - I win...." thread is full I will answer your last question here. Sorry I ignored it before! Senior moment!
OK the buffing cream is designed specifically for surface imperfections. Or rather, the smoothing out of those little imperfections.
If your nails are weak and thin and still peeling and splitting, hold off on the buffing for another two weeks and give them a chance to soak up just the growth formula.
If they seem to be fairly healthy and are becoming nicely hydrated, then lightly buff. You will know if your nails are too thin to tolerate the cream as of yet. Experiment with your thumb nails, since they are generally a bit more sturdy and durable. It they weather the buffing cream well then jump right in there. When you are done with the buffing, wash your hands in warm, mild soapy water and dry them well. Just wipe your buffer down with a damp cloth when you are done and store it away until next time.
You know you can buff in the growth formula too! It knocks out four fingers at once, in case you're crunched for time.

OK, that probably would have gotten me kicked off the Q boards. Thank goodness wacky comments are allowed here.
