Subject: Nuturella Polish Review #2
Message: Today is day 2 for me and after reading what June posted I then applied the clear polish also to the 2 coats of Valentine..the clear polish does seem to give it a little more shine than if the polish is worn alone.
Yesterday I wanted to put it to the test so..I cleaned my house with no gloves on even when I used my cleaning products...last night and this morning I washed dishes. The end results is that it still looks as good as when I applied it yesterday and I have had no peeling or it wearing off on the end of my nails. So I do not know if the clear coat helped or not but I am really surpried that my polish stayed intact.
So on my second day so far so good...I really like this polish and this morning I applied it to my toenails and the application was as smooth as when I applied it to my fingernails.

Message: Well now you need to drive down here and test those lovelies on my house! That will be the definitive answer to the nagging peeling, chipping polish question! How soon can you get here? lol
Don't forget to continue to use your ngf on those cuticles and rub it into that matrix to keep the cells stimulated. We don't want to stunt their growth!

Message: Lori! Now you are making me anxious to try the Valentine. Quick question for you.... are you using THEIR clear polish as a topcoat or an oil based topcoat?

Message: Lynnie, I am going to jump in here and say that most likely Lori is using a regular clear base polish over the top of the water-base polish, as that is what I said I am trying. I don't have the new formula. Mine is the peel-off polish, the old formula. I put one thin coat of the water-base clear on my nails and then two thin coats of the water-base polish in the color Tuscany. Because I wanted a bit more of a glossy shine and also maybe a bit more protection, I then put a thin coat of regular clear polish over all that. My reasoning is that with the three coats of the water-base polish on the nails I felt like putting the clear coat of regular nail polish over that would not dry out the nail because you have the other under it to protect it. Duh! Okay, that is just my way of thinking. Don't shoot the messenger. LOL.

Message: Great! Thanks, June! I'm going to try this too because, as I said, that was my only objection, the duller finish. Your thinking on that sounds good to me. One swipe to remove the topcoat with acetone won't penetrate the water base and still protect the bare nails.

Message: Lynnie I am sorry and should have thrown in there that I am using a Joan Rivers clear polish that I have had forever to get more shine. Also I think you will really like the Valentine..it is a pretty pink.
Hey June thanks for reading my mind because I got the idea of the clear from you..at least I thought you meant that you were using just a regular clear polish and not theirs and by the way it eas a great idea!
Barbara I will be on my way to clean your house...I am sure Lynnie will come to LOL!I am still rubbing in my NGF 2x a day.

Message: Oh yeah, Lori, sign me up for that housecleaning! Actually, it would be another good excuse to put off doing my own.
Here's tonight's experiment. One coat of the Fairy Dust with one coat of the Naturella clear over. The clear adds a shinier gloss finish! I REALLY like this combo.

Message: Lynnie is the Fairy Dust sheer and it looks like it might have glitter in it..or is that just me?The color looks so pretty and I think that will be my next choice after I remove the Valentine.
Now you are making me want to remove my Valentine and put the Fairy Dust on...I really love these colors!

Message: Lori - it is glittery, thus why I did only one coat so I can see whiter tips peeking through. But, this morning, I looked at the Honeybee site and there is a new French Manicure kit for $11.95! I could really LOVE that look.

Message: Lynnie, I do not have the new formula of water-based polish that you gals are trying. I have the original peel-off. I have had this for well over two years and it has not thickened in the bottle or anything like regular nail polish would in that amount of time. Anyway, I did put the clear coat of regular nail polish over it to get more of a shine, as I stated in a previous post. I have been cleaning, washing dishes, taking care of our pets, etc., and it is holding up just great. Just because I was curious, I peeled the polish off of one fingernail this morning. I did not remove the clear coat of regular polish first because I just knew it would peel right off with the water-based and it did. I got a piece loose at the side of my nail and the polish peeled away in one piece. My nails underneath were just as shiny and pink as they were before I put the polish on my nails. Evidently the water-based polish does not let the regular clear coat polish sink through to the nail. Just wanted to say that this is evidently doable without harming your nails if you are one of these gals that likes the more glossy look to your nails.
