Message: More customers hate it than love it, if you go by the comments at QVC!!! It is soon going to be on-line and then it will be most likely pirated all over the web---you will still be out $36!!

Message: I've been a subscriber for years, but have been questioning the value lately. You do get good discounts on many LIMITED QUANTITY items - the problem is that they are often sold out by the time I've called. We West Coasters often receive our Insiders later than others in the country.
You do get a chance to pre-order about five TSVs if that's of interest.
The main reason I subscribed was when I was newer to QVC and really enjoyed reading about the hosts, models, the whole TV production business, etc. But now that I'm an old-timer, much of that information is not as newsworthy to me any more.
It is definitely entertaining reading, and the values can be good if you can get in on them. But it's hit or miss.

Message: My question to Q oldtimers is, do the TIPS and PROSTRONG people have plants in the Q BB?
And second, do you find it offensive that the thread on sexual preference is open for discussion, I thought that sort of thing would surely get a poof! @#$%^&*(silly me!)

Message: I had it, got about 5 issues and cancelled. My reasons for cancelling were that it always seemed that the discounted items were not things I was interested in, and at the time I had it, there were a LOT of problems regarding advanced ordering the TSV. Many times posters stated that when calling in to order the TSV in advance, they were told they couldn't because it was sold out. Hmmmm.. made NO sense to me. So, for what use I was getting out of it, it was just a glamourized program guide.
That said, if you do decide to try and do not like it, you can always cancel.

I agree with Moi that it is just a glamourized program guide.

Message: Barb, I agree with you. Discussion of ones sexual preferences or escapades does not belong on the Beauty thread. It matters NOT what your preference is, it has no place on a public forum not intended for that kind of discussion. AND, that it is allowed to go one while posts on age, photos, etc are banned is just ridiculous.

Message: Barbara,
I'm an old-timer in terms of being a QVC viewer and buyer (going back to 1991), but quite new to their bulletin board (of course, QVC did not have a website for many years anyway). And it still shocks me how some of the threads and posts can be so risque or nasty or whatever, when the QVC programming itself and the hosts do seem to pride themselves on being quite family oriented and wholesome. So whether there are certain vendors who are plants on the BB, who knows. But it just shows that any bulletin board can attract some negative types. But I'm with you - you'd think the QVC webmaster would follow the same wholesome standards as QVC corporate - or at least try to be consistent once in a while!
That being said, I found all of you wonderful people by being on the Q boards, and there are many other wonderful, throughtful, supportive people on there as well, so let's hope the good ones outnumber the negative ones.

Message: I believe that the good ones do outnumber those few that spoil so much for so many. It is really sad that this happens, because as you say, we found one another through Denises first post there.
I know I probably do a lot that would torque someone elses wrench, but I am so glad we have such a great group of gals over here. I just really enjoy being able to participate with regards to nail care issues. I think there are just too many rip offs going on in the world and people need facts to make informed decisions. Not just sales hype. It's not about making a killing short term, it is about making a living long term and hopefully helping others to reclaim what the industry has destroyed.

Message: Heh, Sheltie Girl, I got that call a month ago and was in a hurry so I said Yes. I'm sure I will be cancelling after the first couple issues. Like Jill, I go back to the early days of QVC too, but back then, my shopping was all over the place, not just beauty products and a couple tempting TSV's. I don't need a magazine tempting me! lol
Spose I better go see this risque thread. I don't understand their reasoning. They zapped a harmless thread asking our age.
