I just got my NGF on Friday and I am already much encouraged. I wanted to know if I can use polish during the transition as I work in a fairly professional environment and they are very unsightly right now. If you can, does it in any way hinder the progress? Care to share anyone?

Debbie - are you growing out acrylics, thus the unsightliness? If that is the case, I don't blame you for wanting to camoulflage at work. Maybe, for the first few weeks of new growth, you could polish during the week and use the NGF on bare nails weekends. But still do massage in the NGF while wearing polish. Your cuticles and tips will benefit in the meantime.

Hi Debbie,
If you use the polish to cover acrylic damage then I guess we can forgive you. Just don't take it off for two weeks, just do touch up polish..Before that though you rub in a generous amount of the formula and rub it in good! This will help protect and lock in the moisture before you polish. You will not achieve results as readily with polish, as without the polish, but of course you may wear it. I think you will find in the next month or so that your dependence on the polish will subside. We will be right here if you need us. And don't be a stranger here! Welcome aboard and see ya' later.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Yes, I am suffering from having my acrylics removed about two weeks ago. I was desperate and found your site through by going to google. Believe it or not, this is the first time I have posted to a message board! You gave me the perfect answer. I will NOT use polish yet and suffer through the unsightly mess. I want the best possible results and I will keep you posted on my progress. BTW, I used to live in Cumming GA (from 1994-2002). I love GA but VA is home -- I am in Fairfax about two miles from where I was born in Arlington. It is great to be back home where my three adult sons were born, but we left one in GA. He will graduate from UGA in May. he wants to stay so he will give us a good reason to keep visiting! Thanks for a great product.

Well, be sure to stick around and keep us posted, Debbie! My nails all looked initially like they'd been slammed in a car door, but I saw really significant growth and improvement after a month as they edged towards the quick. Remember, that first half of your nail near the cuticle has only been subjected to a couple fills and is a bit healthier. Good luck and keep rubbing!

Hello, Virginia Newcomer! I'm a Virginian also, from Fredericksburg, and am also a newcomer to fingernailcare.com. I must say that after years and years of biting my nails, I finally decided, about 2 months ago, that enough was enough, and stopped biting. My nails started growing out nicely, and then I found this great website, ordered the growth formula, and have been using it for about 10 days...what a difference already! I can't believe these lovely nails are attached to MY hands! Best to you, Beth

Beth & Debbie,
with such great attitudes you both are going to see wonderful results! beth, i was a nail biter from the age of 4. between biting and acrylic damage mine were just pitiful. i broke the nail biting habit, finally, and found a lifelong product, in NGF, that makes them healthy and flexible. ladies, be faithful and patient in your applications, and you wil see results.

Well, congratulations and welcome to you both!!!
I love NGF. I was driving along, looking at my nails this morning (yes, very dangerous but I couldn't help myself!) and I couldn't help but think back to the YEARS of my life chained to acrylics or hiding my hands in embarrassment. I was soooo bad about picking. My nails were sooo short that there was no way I could bite them... I picked. My pinky nails were just barely above the luna (half moon) and were painful to look at as well as painful to have.
I don't usually say things like this, but I am really truly proud of myself because even though the product worked miracles, I had to take control and stop the nasty habit. But I can honestly say that NGF made my nails and cuticles look sooo much better that it gave me the motivation to do it!
Please come back and visit us often!!!

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome--I truly appreciate it! I must say I am very proud of myself...I am 52 years young, and for most of those I have bitten my nails, cuticles, etc., etc. I am so proud of myself. I have always admired people with nice, healthy looking nails, while I have been sitting on my hands and doing other things to not draw attention to mine. I must say that after a few months of not biting, and finding the NGF, I am so happy and pleased. Three months ago, I couldn't imagine not biting my nails. Now, after just about 10 days of using the NGF I can't ever imagine biting them again!
Thanks again for the nice, warm welcome!
Beth
