Subject: Help needed with cuticles!!!
Message: Hi ladies, and hope you are all enjoying your day. I feel like an idiot asking this, but my cuticles have always been a problem for me. The one good thing artificial nails did for me was to get me off the cycle of pushing them back and cutting them. I was willing to let them grow down the nail a bit if that meant healthly nails, but this is getting ridiculous! They keep getting longer, but the edge is thin and strongly bonded to the nail. They don't puch back without force. I don't want to do this because I am afraid I will harm the nail bed. Any help out there? Thanks!!!!

Message: Kylie,
During the process of rubbing in the formula you push the cuticles back with your fingertips. NEVER cut your cuticles. That creates problems you just don't need. They will begin to be "whipped" into shape. Just pay attention to how you apply the formula and push as you rub. May be just the slightest bit of nail tip pushing them ever so gently will "break them loose" from the surface of the nails without insident.
Ladies, help! Any input!!!!!

Message: GIVE UP is just not a part of the vocabulary when we are discussing these issues, don't you worry!
You apply a dab of the formula and push that cuticle back toward the rim of the nails....Be gentle and patient. They spent a long time getting that way, it may take a minute to get them "trained" to do otherwise.

Message: Kylie,
You can also apply some vitamin e oil to the cuticles to help keep them supple. It is inexpensive and you can pick it up in your local grocers, with the vitamins. A little bottle is about $3.00. Lasts forever! The oil is readily absorbed so it doesn't leave the fingers all yucky! (Scientific term there!)

Message: Kylie, this is just between you and me... please don't let this get out... please do not let Barbara know....
I'm really bad about the cuticles myself. When they are hangy, I cut them ::: gasp ::: Yes, I know... but I always FIRST try pushing them back.
Here's the deal..... and I fggered this out all on my very own.....
When I leave my cuticles alone the new nail growth has fewer ridges. When I pick at them, the ridges grow back... that in itself is reason enough for me to leave them alone!

Message: i admit it too. on the RARE ocassion i do have a cuticle that needs to go, usually on the side of my nail, never around where it bonds to my finger,i do have a very good pair of cuticle nippers, not fingernail clippers, that i use. then i rub, rub, rub the NGF into it. it's alright to clip "hangers", but that's all. don't go nuts. if you don't think you can stop once you start then don't do it! you do not want to break that seal and invite infection by going crazy. when you wash your hands during the day use just moisturizing liquid soap. so much we do to our hands during the day really takes the moisture out of our nail beds. soak your nails in a bowl of warm water with a few drops of vitamin e oil added. this will soften up the cuticles and make them easier to push back with the NGF. hang in there with the formula.it will happen.
